I am applying controlled heating technique. On putting it on for ten minutes or so. If I feel really cold.
lucky this house is well insulated, it has that magic coating put on by the previous owners, the loft insulation is ok but could probably do with topping up, and we need to get some roof vents put in up there before we do that.
Would love some snow, near Christmas, would make this special one even more special.today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

I thought we should turn ours on when my 3 y/o was cold before bed last night and in her pjs snuggled in a blanket and my 2 y/o has blue lips at lunchtime today..
Plus if the house gets cold it takes 3-4 days to warm up again.
Nice and dreary outside today and I just didn't bother opening the curtains! I'll have to start making a point of getting outside for short periods for Vit D purposes just not today!Same here didn't even bother opening curtains, too wet and vile. No vit D today, no daylight to speak of, just grey bleugh.
I hope the whole winter isn't like this, while I dislike the heating bills when it's snowy and freezing, I really hate all this grey wet nothingness, really gets me down.
I hope you both won't mind me posting this.
Vitamin D has been of great interest to me since I was was recently found to be severely deficient.
It is really nice to wrap up warm and walk in the sunshine, but we cannot make Vit D from the sun at this time of year - not from late October till mid to late April.

Back to the heating.
My central heating isn't on yet this Winter, but that may change in the next day or so with the falling temps.
I wear a huge fluffy dressing gown which I throw off every so often because it's too warm.
It is 21.5 degrees C in here, 8.1 degrees outside, near central London.
Only possible warmth is coming from the desktop pc.0 -
The central heating has been going on for about 4 hours a day in the evenings for the last few days but the max it is set for is 17 degrees . The kids have been ok and are happy to wrap themselves up in king size fleeces that I have bought for each of us.0

We have been putting on our central heating for an hour in the evening for the last week or so and have had 2 duvets on our bed for 8 weeks. However, OH bought me a fleece onesie from Matalan at the weekend and they are the future!!!! never been so warm, cosy and comfortableChoose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. ~Confucius0

Likewise, we've had the heating on to take the chill off for an hour in the evening. I bought a blanket from Lidl on Saturday (the last one) which is keeping me warm & toastie. Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0
