Dear frames1_uk
I have no knowledge about i6 but you need to be careful after October 1 e.g. the date the interest is paid is it is hoigly likely the intereat start to drop.

The bonus on A&L Online saver 6 was payable for 12 months from the date of opening.0

Just phoned to check why interest was short ( about £700-800 in my case). The interest rate of 3.15% was payable from date of opening for 1 year. Since there was a payment on 1st Oct 2009, it accounts why I was seeing a shortfall for interest paid on 1st Oct 2010, silly mistake but obvious when you think about it.0

Hi everyone
Thanks for the input. Didn't realise it was 1 year from date of opening - thought it was until 2/8/10 and overlooked the interest payment for 01/10/09 (silly me). Amended my excel sheet and the shortfall not as bad as first thought. Can live with it.
Once again thanks0 -
doh - I thought I had wrong interest, till I realised I was calculating from July 2009 and not from oct 2010.
Now, all I have to do is claim tax back from taxman, as I thought I had sent R85 form, but obviously not.0 -
Hi
I opened my inline saver 5 last year in July with just over 50,000, I have received 1,300 interest, does this seem correct.
Also can anyone tell me how long it takes to tansfer in to your bank account when you do an online withdrawal with them.
Just had murder again in a branch, I totally give up with Santander, the branch I was in had several people with there heads in hands, its a blooming disgrace,

I had about £25K with them in the online saver (5) and the bonus expired on the 2nd August so that is when we parted company (thankfully). I too am sick of Santander! My interest was about £624 but that was gross interest except for a couple of months when I became a tax payer before the new tax year so if you were receiving gross interest for the whole of the year that seems about right to me. If you wish to close the account they will send you a cheque (eventually) after about 3 weeks. If you just want to withdraw some money to put into your linked account it used to take approx 7 days with my bank/account. Hope this helps samuela66.0

Thanks for that Juicy,
The trouble I have had with them is unbelievable, but after watching Watchdog last week I see I am not the only one.
I had an ISA, they didnt put the interest on it, i queried and kept going back in branch spent hours of time waiting, then the girl finally says oh yes it was looked into but they didnt know why so closed the case (minus interest) finally after many long rants (this is fromm March) i got the interest (minus tax:mad:), applied to Birmingham midshires in July to transfer to them they have requested twice now and nothing, my money is sitting oin a 0.00008% account, when I queried that today they asked would I like to move it to one of theres (yeah right)

We have had so much trouble with them too long and drawn out to explain all the different senarios on here needless to say we have been in touch with the Information Commisioner ( lost hubbys ID) and also the Financial Ombudsman about a totally different matter. They have been sending cheques to us as a sweetner but we sent them back.0
