you're doing well at not spending and it definitely becomes second nature. That feeling of control is great.0

Hiya! Glad you're back, I hope the trip went well - I somehow missed your post yesterday ....
I love that phrase "stepping away" - absolutely about a positive control over our lives.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well done mac. :T
As a quick aside, I'm really enjoying the Blast Off Belly Fat DVD - found the instructions a bit fast to begin with but am "getting" it more now. The work outs are really good even though they're only 10 mins each - I usually end up doing two. So thanks for mentioning it. :j Definitely going to look at other DVD's in the series as well.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Hello!
Sorry I've not been around for a few days, but have I been busy with work and life in general - but it's all good
I made a conscious effort to stay off the laptop as hours tend to go by and my free time is far too precious for that.
Work has been busy, but I love it so it's fine. We've been sorting out the house, last weekend we hired a carpet cleaner, as we'd had a few spillages over Christmas and it was pouring down the day we moved so the pristine carpets took a bit of a battering.
I managed to do the living room, sofa, stairs, bedrooms and landing :j It looks great now - brand new.
So today I am blitzing the house. I've done the bathroom but need to attack the clutter. As Flylady days - Clutter is an unwelcome house guest. Indeed, and mine is getting shown the door today!
I've been running a fair bit and doing my pilates and Blast off DVDs (glad you like it Sashy!) and have lost a few pounds - despite the PMT sugar cravings - someone called me a sugar crack head the other day :rotfl:
DH and I are taking the kids to London during half term and are planning to go to my parent's place in Spain in May - so we have some nice things to look forward to which aren't too extravagant (see - I really have learnt my lesson!)
Hope everyone's well on here - I'll try to have a quick zip round the diairies before I crack on. I've set myself a deadline on the downstairs, then I'm going for a run before lunch
I will keep popping back to catch up with everyone - and of course to keep myself on the straight and narrow  xxx0 -
Wow! Listen to that energy - fantastic! Love the description of sugar crackhead, if I touch the stuff, thats how I end up2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Your diary is not irrelevant I love reading about your family, your job, your running and your stylish ideas and the progress you have made your stepping back before making purchases and even your crazy virtual shopping baskets so don't you dare desert us :A
Consider yourself told off (after all I am now a family friend)

Seconded.
I love reading about your girls, and your running, and the bits about the house. It doesn't all have to be about money.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi Macgirl, after your comment on Taxi's thread, I read your diary from start to finish yesterday and it is FAR from irrelevant - in fact the opposite!
Just because you had some good fortune, which is marvellous, it doesn't make it any less of a journey to debt freedom.
I will subscribe and enjoy the rest of the ride!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84
There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!
