Good Morning and Happy Christmas to you all! :xmastree: (I love that tree :D)

Feeling a bit tired this morning. Stayed up til 2am, then DD1 came into our bed at 2.30am, then little DD called at 3am, so I sorted her out and got back to bed until 6.30 when she came in, saw her sister lying next to me and sat at the top of the stairs sobbing..... *sigh* So I got into her bed with her and stayed there until 8am. Joy

This morning I'm going to "Fly" around the house, hoover when DH gets up and prepare for my visits. I love to be busy and up against it, otherwise I have a great capacity for laziness.
When I was wrapping last night I found The Grinch Who Stole Christmas DVD, so we're watching that now and getting into the festive spirit. Then we'll have some sort of hearty breakfast before I started cleaning.

It's so nice to be off work for the next few days - 5 off then 1 in, then 6 off :j:j:j

Have a good day whatever you're up to :)

Well, I can hear that you're playing ring-a-roses with the beds, but you sound like this Christmas is going to be so happy in your new home! Lovely :)

Well Santa's been! I did have mild panic that we hadn't bought the kids enough. There are no large presents this year and to be honest, neither of them have asked for anything in particular. I have taken note of things they've liked throughout the year, so hopefully all will be ok in the morning :o If not, my in laws have bought them a trampoline so they won't be disappointed.

I've never finished this early on Christmas Eve :T So, I've left DH downstairs wrapping my pressies while I watch the fabulous Alison Steadman, I love her.

Merry Christmas everyone, I wish you peace, happiness and debt freedom in the New Year x

    Good Morning :hello:

Hope everyone's had/having a good Christmas break. We've had a good one so far, but hectic with lots of entertaining and kids on a rollercoaster of illness. DD1 woke at 2am on Christmas Eve/Day being sick with a roaring temperature :( Paracetamol and Ibruprofen have kept it at bay, so much so that once the meds have kicked in and masked the symptoms, she's leaping about!
Then when it wears off, she's ill again. She seems to have all the symptoms of the old "Pig" flu - but did last year too..... The advice on the net is ring the GP, but ours are closed today. I don't think she needs to be seen, I think they just want to know for statistics.

Anyway, of course little DD wanted to get in on the act - she does have a cold, but hams it up with a pathetic little cough anytime she sees the Calpol coming

So far, I'm very proud of myself and have resisted the sales :A though that's mainly because I can't face battling :o I might have a perusal online later.
It's been so nice to relax and just do nothing. We usually go down South between Christmas and New Year, but this year my inlaws came to us, which was lovely. We had a great time with them. Of course, I have eaten and drunk FAR too much, but all that will be rectified next week :A:A:A

Like most people, I'm already thinking about ways to improve my life in 2011.

    1) Lose weight - I will be on a mission as I want to lose 2 stone
    2) Make sure my finances remain under control - save and look at reducing the rather substantial mortgage
    3) Learn to play the piano. It's always been an ambition of mine and now we have one, there is no excuse.

That's it for now, but I also have decluttering next on the list. Despite having loads more room here, things are starting to pile up and I really want to nip it in the bud.

Right back to the chocs and lying on the sofa :D Enjoy your day whatever you're up to xx

I was wondering how you were doing, and here you are! Hello! Glad to hear its going so well, apart from illness of course.

I know exactly what you mean about nipping the clutter in the bud - its no use having a more spacious place if clutter means you can't use it. This place of mine isn't more spacious, but its the same principle after all the hard work I've done to create space. But just on Christmas Day, when my sister came to collect me, she brought me a surprise Christmas present from my mum - a new microwave. My old one works perfectly well, but has never turned, and my mother's been freaking about it. So now I have two - I have to get rid of the old one on freecycle I think, but in the meantime - clutter castle!

Anyway, enjoy the chocs and the sofa-lying - isn't it lovely!

DH gave me some money for Christmas with the strict instructions that it was not for the bank but for me :j

I bought myself a gorgeous leopard print coat before Christmas, which is lovely even though I don't normally do leopard :o So some of it will be towards that.

Today I've been looking at getting a Garmin GPS Personal Trainer, they've come down a lot in price recently so I think with the money DH gave me, I can justify spending £100 whereas £300 is out of the question. I also desperately need some new running shoes. I've been promising myself some for a while as mine are long past their best. So after careful research I've found a pair in the sales and they're both in a virtual basket.

I'm giving myself a cooling off period before clicking "BUY". I need to be sure I *really* need them and can't buy them anywhere else cheaper...
I've also got a virtual basket running at a clothes shop :o:o:o I have in there a woolly hat (needed), summer sandals (will come in handy, are half price - but can I wait until Summer to buy some others for around the same price?), earrings for a friend's birthday in March (again, half price, but would I be better waiting? or should I take advantage of the cheap yet expensive looking gift now?)
Decisions, decisions. I'll sit on them for a while and decide later :A
  • So nice to have money to spend on you and you deserve it. It's hard though choosing - I think it is because we appreciate the money more now and therefore it is more important not to waste it nice problem to have though - enjoy
