  • Phew ive finally caught up :rotfl:!!! You really need to slow down a bit youve tired me out just reading :rotfl:!!!

Yep my DD sounds so much like yours, only she is 2 years younger, so I now know whats instore for me !!
Weve had such a problem with her eating, or lack of it. DD1 was the perfect eater, will eat anything you put infront of her. DD2 however would fling it to the dog. Anyway through months of perservering we managed to get her back on the straight and narrow. My god what are these kids doing to us :o!

Woohoo to the windfall too although im sure that feels a lifetime ago now :T

    Good evening :)

Last night DH said he would be working at home today and finished by lunchtime, so he'd make the packed lunches and take the girls to holiday club. I thought "Great, I can leave early and get everything done" :j

I got ready this morning and whispered goodbye to him before heading out. DH said "before you go, could you get me a bucket?" _pale_
So, I had to get the kids up, make the packed lunches (after cleaning the kitchen, that I'd left as DH insisted he'd do it today ) ring work to say I'd be late, drop the kids off and race to work :o

Poor thing, he's never ill and when he is doesn't get "man flu", but is stoic and gets on with it. He's been so busy the last few weeks and did get a throat infection, but ignored it and carried on. Now when he's in spitting distance of a half day to himself to unwind - he gets ill. He's had the runs and vomiting all day...:(

So now, work is done :j all the shopping is done :j food shopping has all been bought :j and when DH is better, all will be well with the World :)

Hope everyone's ok - I really *am* looking forward to being at home and not doing very much :D

Your poor DH! I've noticed you saying in the past "DH did the ironing" etc etc, he really - I was going to say chips in, but he really pulls his weight in the house, so as you say, he must be way beyond man flu. Hope he gets better soon - and I do like your list of whats gone well - I'm certainly going to prepare for events further in advance, it seems to be one way that I can prevent myself stressing to the point of coming down with something.... we live and learn, hey?

  • Hope you have a chilling time, even with DH ill in bed. It's good that you were organised though and had the food delivery etc. it does take some of the pressure off.

Not doing very much is my favourite thing to do at the moment.

    Thanks you 2 :)

I have to say, I don't where I'd be without the internet. The sight of stressed women shouting at their husbands and kids, looking like they'd aged 10 years in a day - convinced me that shopping online is the only way at this time of year.
I nipped to the supermarket after work, for cinnamon sticks and nutmeg for my Mulled wine tomorrow ;) and the stress was tangible - Urgghhh, so glad I'm done.

Having said that.....The kitchen's a mess, the hall's a mess where we came in and dumped everything. The living room is a mess and I do still have some things to wrap :o I've moved all the food into 2 cupboards and need to move all the crockery into the other cupboard, so if I can do the kitchen tonight, I'll be happy.

Then I either wrap the last things tonight or tomorrow night - neither is appealling TBH! In the morning we're expecting a delivery, a parcel needs collecting from the PO. I want to visit my Aunt, then my brother and family are calling and we've been invited for drinks with some friends. Then all being well my in laws will arrive in the evening - though they will stay at a hotel, due to my FiL's disability.

I know it will all get done, but thinking about the work fills me with dread. Best stop thinking and start doing!

Good luck with getting everything done - but you know you will do it, you always do. :T

Hope DH is better soon and that you all have a lovely Christmas. :j

I did a lot of online shopping as well this year for presents, the only problem is missing the postman and having to go out and collect the parcels. It's still preferable to pushing through the crowds though. :D

Well that's a good solution to the delivery problem, OH sometimes does that as well but I can't where I work since I'm in a restricted area. That sounds a bit dodgy. :rotfl:

Uh-oh, hope you're okay and don't come down with anything.
