You haven't wasted a day, your little ones come first, even if you do feel like the world's worst parent. if you don't get the cards done then so be it..they only end up in the bin anyway...hope DD is better0

Hello Oh Wise Ones! :A:A:A
Cards are done, stamped and in my bag for tomorrow. I did question writing cards for people I see daily, but there are done too. Others that are sent to family and friends I don't often see. They're the ones I'm bothered about, so am glad they're done.
DH was at home today and I arrived home to a clean and tidy house, happy kids and dinner on the table :T I would *love* a House Husband!(even if he did wash a basket of clothes that I had taken out of the dryer last night :wall:)
So I lit some candles, poured a glass of vino and did the deed. Feel totally ready for the weekend now - like you said Gill, it happens whatever.
The only blot on the horizon is that my in-laws might not come nowMy FiL is very unsteady due to crippling arthritis and can't risk a fall. The weather *is* bad, (though was far worse a few weeks ago) and the forecast seems to change by the hour. I will be disappointed if they don't come, as they are great fun, but I don't want them to put themselves in danger.
My MiL will be gutted, as we never spend Christmas day together - so fingers crossed for a thaw....0 -
fingers crossed for a thaw..guess a lot of people will be changing their plans due to safety issues0
-
Fingers crossed .... like Taxi said, my family might be changing plans for safety issues - its my mother thats travelling this year, and I was just chatting to her about it - she said she's not that steady even on flat ground in good weather now
she's definitely on a downhill slope, I'm starting to feel guilty for wanting (in a way) Christmas on my own now

I am reading a lot on fb as well as here about people who have to change their festive plans because of the weather -I hope everyone gets to celebrate in the way that they hope xxx
Well done on the cards etc - I will now just accept that I have cards bought ready for next year. Therefore I am uber organised for 2011Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Good Evening
I had some bad news today about a friend's parent who is critically ill. It's so sad and made all the more awful by the time of year, so my thoughts have been with them all day
My Mil's still planing on coming - she's made of strong stuff! So hopefully the forecast of sunshine and no snow will hold out.
I'm just waiting for the supermarket delivery, then I'm going to sort out the kitchen. The cupboards and workspace are poorly designed and when we moved in, I just shoved stuff in cupboards to get the job done as quickly as possible. So tonight, I'm having a move around to see if I can make it more workable. We have a lovely dresser that can display all the nice glasses we have - instead of DH's phone chargers and running gloves
Just watching the programme about Kate Middleton (nothing else on). It reminded me of DD1 who asked me the other day "When I grow up, will *we* be Royalty" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: We're SUCH a disappointment to her!
Hope everyone's had a good day and are keeping warm x0 -
You're doing that tonight! You're made of strong stuff, macgirl! I'm trying to shut down the computer to watch the Time Team special, but people I like keep posting!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Oh yes! I had a lazy day on Sunday remember?
I'm just going for a skip round the boards, then must crack on. I was reading KC's diary last night when I got the call from little DD  SHE nevers stops either! I guess when DH mutters "Where *does* she get it from" He has a point
Everyone is dropping with this awful flu/chest infection, so I'm carrying on before it gets me. Though it'll probably wait til Christmas day - nice :cool:0
