Hi Se - yes I know, but I'm in the danger zone no matter which method I use - so drastic measures have to be taken.
That said, I've just been submitting my Indian takeaway order for NYE at a friend's house - Whoops!
Running kit ready and on the launch pad0 -
Well, as I have less than 16 weeks til the marathon, I need to up my milage too......so once I am back from my hols, I will join you in the "no-excuses-to-run" clubSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Nice one Hypno and good to see your green light back on!
Well I aimed for 6 miles, but only managed 4, but at least I went. DD1 had a cinema party this morning, though has been ill since Christmas Eve, high temp, nausea, cough generally unwell. She was determined to go, but kept crying as she is still not right. So little DD and I ended up in the cinema with the party, then they very kindly took both kids back to their house for the party :j
I have tidied round and started sorting the endless piles of laundry we've washed and dried but done nothing withIt's a bit overwhelming - hence the coffee break. DH is at work, so said he'd collect the girls on his way home. Hate to say it, but feel like I'm coming down with something - hope it's just dehydration as we're partying at a friend's house tomorrow night and the 5 bottles of bubbly are chilling nicely

Thank you - went for a walk to the shops and decided it's tiredness and not enough water (in other words, ignore it and it will go away
)
I've been nominated to bring dessert tomorrow evening, so am trawling through recipes for something that will work after curry....I'm thinking more champers
I have all the ingredients to make a choc and pecan tart, but DH said "Just buy dessert from M&S"
Tempting as it's less stress, but goes against my MSE grain...0 -
*puts MSE grain to one side*
congrats on the 4 miles. I was happy today cos I skipped a bit going to the post box! Sorry about your Aunt too Many stroke victims recover mobility and control over time tho, is that a possibility?

*steals last bowl of trifle*

I do make a mean trifle Buffy
using Nigel Slater's recipe and lashings of sherry
Yes, I think my Aunt will recover, I tried sending some flowers today to cheer her up but the ward won't allow it!
Well, went to M&S and Sainsbo's. I'm ashamed to say I spent around £15 on dessertsFor less than a fiver I could have made something better. *Mental note - don't listen to DH in future :wall:* He wanted to avoid me taking on too much, but I'd have got more satisfaction out of taking something I'd made (and saved money doing so) - oh well will know better next time.
I also bought a kettle for £20 in the sale :money:0 -
Just had a hunt online for his recipe but can't find the one I use:
Bascially it's
2 x swiss rolls, ripped up and placed in the bottom of a dish
Drown them in sherry
Then add chopped strawbs, raspberries and blueberries
Take some more raspberries and mash with a fork through a sieve. Then pour over the base. If it's to think, add a drop of sparkling water
Then pour over a tub of ready made custard
Then whip some double cream (a large tub) until just before it's stiff
Toast some almonds and scatter on top - ENJOY
I have used just strawberries and poured over some jelly to set and this works too, but I like his version as it is a sort of collapsed mess of fruit, cream custard and booze0 -
Hope you don't get the lurgy and your aunt improves soon
id have bought the desserts from the shop too0
