Keeping_Motivated wrote: »Mac maybe next year a small donation to a charity and quick email to explain to people in lieu of Christmas cards? Personally I think more of us should do this as its such a waste. I do a donation to charity for work colleagues instead of a card but send cards to others but I might have a think about stopping xmas cards altogether in lieu of a more deserving cause next year.

There are some lovely e-cards with music this year - I am sending one to friends who I would normally give cards to.

Hello :hello:
Most of the people I'm bothered about are those we don't see that often and/ or don't have emails. Tomorrow I will post all the cards that I'm going to write tonight
That's after I've been late night shopping to buy a black dress for tomorrow. Once DH gets home, I'll head out.
I feel quite good about Christmas now. I\m all organised. Mostly wrapped, food ordered, house in semi-order - calmness all around :A
Workwise I'm on track, though next week will be busy with a couple of late nights. The kids are going to a Panto with my sister on Saturday, so I'll take advantage and blitz the house. I need to sort out the playroom and be ruthless with the toys before the next onslaught.
It would have been good to start that tomorrow and take them to the charity shop for Saturday, but I'm sure the funeral will take up most of the day...
Hope everyone's well and feeling festive! :xmassmile :xmastree:0 -

Well, perhaps I shouldn't be *quite* so smug, best laid plans and all that...:o0

On the contrary - I think you should be very very smug at this stage!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Well done on being organised, you are justified in feeling smug.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Good morning.
I didn't write the cards last night so am just doing it now. Then I can get them off to the Post Office this morning and deliver some others via school as it's the last day today. My Mum and Dad are going to Spain tomorrow, so I need to give them their's too. The rest will go in the post tomorrow and get there when they get there
The hunt for a black dress was a bit depressing last nightI need to lose weight, so that will be my mission for 2011. I was on such a downer last night, but woke up feeling positive and determined. (Though that determination usually lasts for 2 weeks
) Now though I'm the wrong side of 40, so need to make sure I stay healthy and WILL get back to full fitness :j
I tried on loads of dresses, but none were right. I ended up with a plain one which is a bit officey, but was lass than £40 and will do for the funeral. Right I'll carry on with this morning's mission then get the girls ready for school and myself for today.
Take care everyone and have a good day x0 -
Never really thought about the problems of buying black this time of year. Everything will either be 'party' or definitely classic office LBD.

Its a tough day today for you, macgirl - I'm glad you're organised already, but that doesn't take away from the emotional wrenches..... take care of yourself too, in all this. I hope it goes as well as these things ever can.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
