Oh I'm great at doling out advice that I don't take! :rotfl:

Well, a very good day today! Went to little DD's nativity. She was stony faced throughout - she didn't like the fact that my Mum and I were there
Anyway, it was lovely - they were all soooo cute! Then afterwards I gave my Mum a basket of ironing, she very kindly keeps offering, so today I took her up on it.

When she opened the carboot to put it in, she said "What's this?!!!"

    MY PHONE!!! :j:j:j:j :j:j:j:j :j:j:j:j :j:j:j:j :j:j:j:j :j:j:j:j :j:j:j:j :j:j:j:j :j:j:j:j

Hurrah!! There *is* a God! My prayers have been answered!!! Texted DH the joyous tidings and he replied that I should give it straight back to my boss

Then got home to find a £25 premium bond prize :T:T:T I turned the letter over with baited breath incase it was the big one - but 25 quid will suit me fine :D

Hope everyone has had a good one!

  • Good news all round.

Your poor DD has probably been happily doing that nativity all week, but 'how very dare you' get in on her act :D

    Thanks Taxi and DT :)

I am going to the funeral DT, I decided that straight away. As much as I love my other Uncle, his party was short notice and would have been a rush anyway and I'll see him again.
I think its more important that I pay my last respects. Hopefully I'll get some refund on the car hire and flight - fingers crossed....

Thank you for telling me to be kind to myself. I do need to do that. This evening I was late in after a crash on the motorway, so we ate at 6.45pm. Then helped the kids wrap presents for their friends and teachers, teaching assistants etc etc etc. Little DD gets very forceful and independent when doing *anything*, so that's waring in itself.

Anyway now I am shattered mentally and physically, so am sitting down before making a list and starting again:
    1. It's my Mum's birthday tomorrow, so I need to call and see her after work tomorrow
    2. DD1's school party tomorrow and I've been roped into making 30 chocolate crispie buns - not yet done!
    3. Divide the girl's presents, put tags on little DD's (after she left them in a strop ) bag appropriately and leave by the back door on the "launchpad"
    4. A friend is coming round tomorrow evening, so I need to make sure the house is spick and span before I go to bed (instead of leaving it until Friday as I normally do :D)
    5. I MUST get my sister's present ready to post to the US and write some cards (maybe check out the pig place)
    6. Find my marriage certificate and copy to send to the solicitors, for changing our rental house from my name to mine and DH's
    7. Chase the builder for the quote for the rental and ring back our plumber friend to find out the damage...
    8. Drop my Uncle's card and pressie to some other relatives that are travelling to Dublin this weekend
    9. Iron DD1's party clothes and uniform for little DD - her party is the following day
    10. Cancel flight and car hire

Noe I've written it down, it doesn't seem so bad. So I'll mooch the diairies for another 10 mins, then get cracking.

Sorry Gill, I took that long with my other post, that I missed yours.
Yes, she would have been fine. She has a straight face at the best of times but when my Mum stood up and waved frantically (wearing a bright red coat!) - DD just looked away blankly, like she wished a big hole would swallow Grandma and me whole :rotfl:

Erm, are you doing that lot tonight? It sounds like they're meant to be done tonight.... thats an awful lot. Remember to breathe.

Certainly am KC! I forgot to add that I need to think about some work tonight and set off for work at 6.30am tomorrow to make up some time lost at the nativity today. I have LOADS on before I break up on the 23rd :o

Also need to get something for the staff at the breakfast and after school clubs - it never ends! But they look after our kids so well and we always like to show our appreciation to these people who do a very important job for not much money.

    And breathe :D
