    Hi Macgirl
I hope you don't mind me asking. What did you eat on an average day? I think I could do with a detox right now. x

Well, I had a bit of a Google-induced health scare, so that always motivates me to eat well :o

Mainly it was porridge for breakfast, made with water and a splash of milk and a banana, or fruit and a bio yoghurt.
I don't eat meat anyway, but did have fish; tinned sardines and tuna or poached salmon. Loads of veggies, including cruciferous; brocholli, sprouts, greens etc. Lentils and pulses, made into soups, salads or stews. No potatoes! Brown rice. Dried fruit and nuts, *loads* of water and herbal teas.
On the days I had to buy my lunch, I bought something like edamame bean and prawn salad. For a sweet treat I'd get Panda Liquorice.

It did the trick and sorted me out, but think I might need to adopt it for the rest of the week before my "naughty halloween" outfit gets an airing on Friday! :D

Oh I'm not doing *that* much of a detox!! Just think that after a "big" weekend, and another ahead of me, and Christmas the week after that, I really ought to limit my units during the early part of the week!

    For now :rotfl:

Sounds about right - that's my usual detox! :D
  • Thanks for that

I might give it a go to kick start my mood and weight loss. I'm vegetarian but can cope with most of that. Like the liquoriche:j x

:o I did nothing - but it was my pleasure to arrange it DT :D

Hello, didn't post last night as we were at a festive evening in the village near us. DD1 was singing in the choir (with a cute little stretched polo mint singing mouth :rotfl:), all the shops were open late and serving mulled wine and hot food. The library had crafty activities for the children and there was much merriment! :xmastree:

Busy at work today, then late night shopping after work and then I had to call and see my tenants as they had a long list of problems :o (when good times turn bad)
The main problem is that it is cold, it's an old house and the HEATING HADN'T EVEN BEEN TURNED ON!!! I could see my breath in the house and gently suggested that perhaps the reason there is condensation on the windows is that it's colder inside the house - brrrrr!

They are very nice though and there are a couple of minor issues that we can sort out - which was a relief. When the agent called I thought the house was ready for falling down!
I only have 1 present left to buy now - :j but need to start the cards :(

Hope all's well for those reading :)

    Sounds like a lovely evening.
Glad the tenants problems weren't as bad as you thought.

Phew to it being something quite straightforward re the tenants - I bet your stomach sank a bit when you got the initial phone call!!

  • Hope your late night shopping went well yesterday.

Just popping in to thank you for recommending the Flylady website. LOVE IT! I love the baby steps and at least I feel as though I am getting some control back in one area of my life.

    Hugs xxx

Good Morning, had a crazy busy day yesterday then came on here (while watching Kirstie and Phil's Perfect Christmas) and fell asleep :o

I had a mountain of work on, which I thankfully finished :A During which, I had to sort out a plumber (who's a good friend - so will charge us the minimum - phew), a builder and someone to sort out a sticking door via the Letting Agents.
The builder mentioned some flashing that I know needs doing, so I think we will have a nice big bill pre-Christmas  Still, it needs to be done, is not as bad as I first thought and luckily there *is* money in our joint account :T

So today is the usual and boring household chores - then I off to get my hair cut and coloured as it's our Christmas Party tonight :j:j:j
It will be a very glam affair, so I'm relishing the chance to get dressed up and have even dug out some false eyelashes! :rotfl: Once I've collected

The dress is the most un-MSE thing I have done since starting this mission, but after taking it back and re-buying it back :o I'm happy that sometimes I can treat myself, otherwise as someone said "What am I working for?"

**Whilst writing this, my Mum rang to say that my dear old Uncle has passed away. He would have been 82 this month. It was expected and a relief for him as he did suffer towards the end. He was also my Godfather :(
The funeral will be a full on Irish Catholic burial, made all the more poignant that it's before Christmas. I'll go to see my Auntie this morning, she is of course devastated and feeling it more as they could never have children.....I know it is life, but sometimes it's tough isn't it.

yes, sometimes it is tough - and therefore my hugs are heading in your direction today x

Office parties a go-go tonight - mine is taking place too.....very much looking forward to it, and did try on my dress this morning just to make sure I can still get into the size 8 I optimistically bought for myself in the summer! Thankfully I can, so no last minute panic buying required for me at lunchtime!

Enjoy your evening, and raise a glass to your Uncle, but try not to let it cloud your fun - I am sure he would want you to enjoy yourself x
