- Take down the curtains and put up the others. Or I might wait until next week, as...
- I need to put my sewing machines together. They are industrial and DH took them apart when we moved. I might need to get them serviced, so will ring up the man today and get a price for that.
- [STRIKE]Ring Sainsbury's and BG to sort out the bills[/STRIKE] Done
Next job is to ring Lloyds, as I cancelled the DD for my CC as the bill has been paid (only after it was transferred to Egg for 0%), but of course there is always "extra" to pay lurking in the background, so I need to make the final payment.
I have been wasting time and ordering free samples of wallpaper off the internetThis house is covered in the stuff and TBH would probably look weird with bare painted walls, so I'm trying to get inspired.
For now I will give the living walls a lick of paint to smarten it up and remove the dirty outlines and fade marks left by the previous owners pictures, then next year we'll do a proper redecoration - mac styley!

I've updated my list. I ran around to virtual Benny Hill music (mainly to warm myself up!) and got most of my jobs done.
Coffee break now, then off to pick the girls up. On the way I have to get a couple of food bits, a birthday card for a party they're going to tomorrow and drop some books back into the library.
The test areas look great. I think it will look fine painted over and will bring the room together. Thankfully, the colour which looked the best is a Homebase own brand :money: They are all shades of beigey grey - v. adventurous! So I will look to do that next Friday - complete with miniscule paint brush so as not to splash paint around the room and protect the carpet. My Dad has some ultra high step ladders, so he said he'll drop them round to me this week :j Exciting!0 -
Hiya! I'm sure painting over the wallpaper will be fine! Do you want wallpaper on every wall in every room? Even for an older house, it might look a bit much these days - what do you think about 1 as an accent type thing, or even 2?
Your list, by the way, is looking *fab*!!!! You've worked really hard today, obviously - I hope you don't do too much more, and can just relax and cuddle on the sofa2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Relax and cuddle on the sofa is tonight's task
Once it gets dark I go off duty!
Well, ideally I personally wouldn't have every room wallpapered, but it was already done and is the textured / one colour type, but not anaglypta (sp) it's tasteful to somebody's taste - though not ours
It's all neutral, by no means hideous, but it makes me wonder what's underneath. I'd hate to take it off and have to spend £100's on replastering - been there, done that!
Right dinner time and I've made sausages for the kids, veggie for me, with brown rice and a DIY rustic tomato stew with puy lentils and butter beans - yum yum! (though the girls will probably say YUK )0 -
Absolutely to the not-taking-the-wallpaper-off !!!
And ooh, that whole menu sounds wonderful! Have a lovely evening

I think what I mean is, that I didn't do it the hard way, thereby am worried that I haven't fully learnt my lesson. I'm terrified of being in debt again, because - if I'm really honest with myself - the urge to spend spend spend is still there....
But the very fact that you've recognised that means that at least you'd stop and think before spending. Once upon a time, you'd just have gone and fitted the house out, bought the children stuff, gone on holiday etc. Even now, you are thinking about how much you spend on the house until you know for certain how things will work out.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Poor DD1 has just called me saying she had tummy ache again and has been really sick again. She has been bouncing around yesterday and today, though hasn't eaten much which is understandable. Perhaps the bug hasn't gone yet. She has a party tomorrow as well as ballet and swimming, but they might be off now...
Never a dull moment!0 -
Poor thing! I hope you all get enough sleep tonight2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hope she's OK. She probably did too much yesterday in her excitement at feeling better.
