    I don't mind running in the snow and ice if it is light for me to see - either in the daytime or with streetlights - but in the dark it is no fun and just too dangerous.

    It is simply a case of adapting the way you run and keeping your wits about you - I don't run in it too often because we have no lights here and by the time I get home it is far too dark.

    Lol KC :D

    Gill, do you have adequate footwear? Good grips are essential - and not wellies, too cold ;)

    DD1 asked me to find a letter that had been sent home from school regarding a choir she's in. Of course, I remember them sending the letter, but could I find it?!
    So, some impromptu paper sorting ensued. To my horror, I opened a bill from British Gas for the final Gas and Electric bill, as we switched to a cheaper supplier.
    It's for £199 - FOR THE MONTH!!! :eek::eek::eek:

    I've been invited to Dublin to a surprise party for my Uncle the week before Christmas. DH and I have been discussing taking the kids out of school for the last day and whether he can take that day off work. Now the question is whether we/I can go at all :(

    ouch!!!!! I am lucky that my bills are all in credit at the mo, so hopefully I won't have any scary "final" bills once I move - that is not much fun to be discovering!

    :(

    Well, we did have a rebate from the other house for more than that amount, so in with one hand and out with the other :cool:

    The positive is that the money is in the account. The down side is that, that money should have paid for 6-8 weeks of fuel...so we need to keep an eye on that. Needless to say, the fire got turned off straight away! :o

    I have 'walking trainers' so a bit like soft sided walking boots, so they have a good grip, I think its just my lack of confidence. If I think I'm going to fall, I probably will.

    and :eek::eek::eek:
    I'm hoping DS is sensible with the heating when I'm not there, I know he has opened the loft hatch a bit, but is probably sat with the fire on rather than putting the heating on for an extra hour.

    Morning Gill and Taxi

    Yes, the bill is scary, let's hope Sainsbury's is cheaper - though we were paying £90 a month in the last (much smaller) house :o

    Well, little DD came running into our room at 6am to tell me her sister was crying. She had a tummy ache and felt sick - then was sick.
    10 minutes later they were larking around, so we started to get her ready for school. Then she was sick again.

    DH and little DD went out to clear the snow off the cars, as we had another fall in the night. They went off to school and I called in to say I was working at home (though will probably have to take it as holiday, and I've only got 3 days left until the end of March :cool:). Anyway, it can't be helped.
    DD1 has been sick 3 times and can't keep anything down, plus she's as white as a sheet, poor thing :(

    Then DH (who is frantically busy at work) rang to say the school was shut as more heavy snow is forecast! So now I have little DD "doing" my hair, by digging the comb in it, DD1 sick every 2 minutes and I'm trying to work :rotfl:

    Think it's going to be one of those days.....

    Poor DD1 has been vomiting all day, every 20 mins or so :(
    I've been to the chemist for dehydration sachets but was advised to keep doing what I'm doing ie: giving her sips of water from a teaspoon which she then throws up.
    Some of it will stay down I suppose.

    I dragged little DD to the shops on the sledge - she was whooping it up! :D Then bumped into someone who said to give DD1 some flat coke - so that's flattening as we speak.

    No work done, so that is tonight's job.
  • Oh what a shame for your little one I hate it when the children are ill you just want to take their place. Flat coke is good.

    Hugs to you all.
