Thanks Pennies, but I just did the one in the stationary store in town and there were definitely rolls. It even said 'Roll' on the wrapping. Very confused.

Yeah I tried that before asking thanks BM, but I think it's an old one. It doesn't have some of the flavours I saw on there, and seems to be dated June-August. Sigh.

I hit voice recorder on my phone and pretend im making a call just far enough way so they can't hear it... and record what I see.

What i did was cost anything over my 'normal' contract as business.

My tarrif had been £20 for two years. It's now £40. So i charge £20 as 'business' as i wouldn't have had to pay over £20 normally but i do as it gets my emails etc etc for work.

Quick love, coffee on TNS Sassie in Hudds :-)

    Hi all,

Did anyone else deal with Retail active with regards to premium holidays back in June? I was 'successful' and have waited all this time for my dates to now be told that they have allocated them for the foreseeable future now, and the person I was dealing with that guaranteed one of them would be mine, has left the company.

I'm quite upset, as I know we shouldnt rely on them, but we turned down another holiday for the sake of this as I was told I would definitely get one :mad::mad:

Anyone know how to get on these courses? I wouldn't mind learning on how to fill in my taxes right.

When I phoned them up to register as self employed they asked if I was interested and sent the details through.
It was definitely worth doing as there were all sorts of things I didn't know were allowable ;)

daft q: I'm doing a gap pizza buffet. I need to take a chum and order 1 pizza buffet and 1 salad. Yes? We can't both eat pizza. Plus 2 drinks.

No. You can take a friend or just go on your own, they'll pay the full reimbursement regardless. Don't buy a salad bowl, buffet includes the salad just put it on your plate with the pizza :)

I'm sure you can actually claim the full amount. I've been self employed for about 7 years now and always claimed it in full because without a phone I wouldn't have a business :) personal use is just a little perk and since minutes and texts are inclusive it's difficult to split it out.

I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong :o) that you're supposed to work out the proportion of time spent on business vs personal use, and only claim that proportion of calls and monthly cost.

As far as I know this is correct. My parents have been self employed for years, and this is what they have always done.
Same applies to things like Internet costs, Printing (unless you just cost per page at their standard rate - can't think off the top of my head what that cost is but I'm sure a quick search could tell you.) etc
