GGRR .. Raging. CFD have just rang me twice again in the space of 15 minutes, 2 different people. Just told the second person that they would be getting a telephone harrassment letter through the post as we were sick of them ringing us. He gave me an address of FREEPOST CFD.
Yeah right, I'm not that thick. I'm going to get the proper address (if I can find it) and send it recorded delivery
Floor 7/Dale House, Tiviot Dale, Stockport, Cheshire, SK1 1XB

They had actually rung back another 3 times on the 24th so OH answered it and told them he was not interested.0 -

Hi All
I just got mugged big time!
I phoned up a loans company who call themselves 'North to South Loans'; they are advertised in the Yellow pages, but do not have their name on the advert; their number is 0800 011 4509; I called them up and they told me that I was guaranteed the loan; I payed them a £44.75 pence fee and they sent me an application form; I filled it in and sent it back and then they sent me a letter with Cash Finance Directs premium number on it: 0906 400 1901 and said I will need to phone them up; I did and after about 15 minutes of taking all my details again, they gave me the 08717500500 number and said I could phone up to know the outcome of my application or they would contact me within a few days; I phoned them up and then they gave me another premium number [ 09064001800 and said I have to phone that; they say they have no details on their 0871 number, so I phoned up and this guy was just wasting his time and blabbering on and on and soon I was sure that this is a big scam and hung up; I think alltogether I lost about 85 pounds.
Also I found out that another company that advertises in the yellow pages, called 'the credit people', number: 08004125643 are the same company or a sister company of 'north to south loans',
Beware of these companies people, there out to scam you0 -

Hi can anyone help,as I an very dubious now. I got called from a company called Urgent Loans, who said that I had been accepted for a loan, and was advised to call 0906 400 1857 (premium rate number), The woman on the phone said there was no fees to given to them or this other company they said had approved my loan and was to contact this other company called Cash Finance Direct, as yet I have not called that number but searched on google and found they are part of a group called Horizon Finance, so i called them and they said i had to call the premium number, I said that i had read that there was quite a few people very unhappy with them, and what was the procedure, and how long would it take to get the loan if i called it....
I have not called the premium rate number but just wanted to know whether it's worth it or not? as my bank has already turned me down. Anyone who has had dealings with this company any replies gratefully received.0 -
we have just had the same problem wth the credit company and cash finance direct, the absolute worst thing is that we are usually very wary but our own very well known high street bank were the ones who put us on to them and so we obviously thought that coming from them they would be a reputable company. Sadly this has not been the case, we are out of pocket so cheers Alliance and Leicester!!!!!0

unfortunately i did call the premium rate number (duh) and still got declined... however i have sent off my phone bill to Freepost CFD (what kind of address is that?) - i have just rung them on 0161 2460237 (from the plebble link in an earlier thread) and have spoken to a very helpful lady who advised me they HAD RECEIVED my copy phone bill on 14th may (quite amazed) and that i should received my refund cheque by 23rd june (28 working days).
i will let you all know if i receive it or not, but there is a small glimmer of hope now i suppose.
wish i'd checked on here first tho :rotfl:0 -
Just had my second call from these people in 24 hours, both very different.
Yesterday I let the friendly chap (Lee) talk me through some stuff, he gave me a premium rate number, I ended the call and that was that. Google brought me here, and I'm glad it did (thanks guys & girls).
Today the not so friendly chap (Ian) asked why I hadn't called to arrange my loan, I said I wan't interested thank you and I wouldn't call a premium rate number out of principal. Chappie said "we'll refund you and you're not losing out, so what's your problem?" (exact words) I said I wouldn't be going forward with it, and he got very stroppy. "But you were all interested yesterday, and now you're backing out of the deal. What's the problem with that?" I replied I wasn't going to continue, and he came back with "oh well, it's your loss mate!" It was at this point I hung up.
Cheeky sod.
Thanks to you lovely people for the heads up in this thread, and also for their address to which a carefully crafted complaints letter will be winging its way at 5pm.0 -
