I am aware of that. I am one of those people and so is my friend
As you rightly pointed out, I have not lost any money. But, I would like to think if that did happen to me I would not behave like others have done on this and other forums.
Be concerned, be p****d off, be worried, ... I would be. But do not be aggressive, nasty and stop throwing words around like "scammers!", "fraud!" and "lies!" unless you really know what you're talking about.
You are taking it out on the very people who are trying to help. It is not their fault what has happened to you.
I don't want to get into a debate, I want to appeal for a little calm and perspective and then leave you all to deal with this as you choose to.
Already have. People like you are making his life a misery.
Thanks, I hope I do.
Taking it out on the people helping us? What have they done to help us? I'm curious, because no one has been helped by them. No one has had 'lost' orders refunded or sent out, and in fact they didn't even advise me on how to obtain a refund. They had absolutely nothing at all of any help to offer me. This is of course after they lied about offering up an alternative. They have done nothing. If those idiotic automated responses we got were considered helpful I would like to know in what way.
These people have helped themselves and done nothing to help us, and you wonder why they are in the firing line. Go back and re-read my previous post, as I said they made things worse with the way in which they have handled this whole mess. As I previously said, folks would have been more forgiving if they weren't lied to from the start. I wanted 3 things, 1) honesty from the start, 2) an apology, 3) a bit of helpful advice on obtaining a refund. Instead I was lied to, sent emails saying I would be helped, and then I was asked to share these bone-heads over-excitement at this fab new business. They handled it in the wrong way and this uproar was inevitable. Maybe they should have hired someone with more than half a brain to apply some damage control.
And please tell me in what way people like me are making your friends life a misery? Because I'm badmouthing a company who robbed me, and the new owners who lied to me? because I'm annoyed? Your friend needs a thicker skin If he's crying into his pillow over this. Either that or he needs to work for a more respectable company. Did he really see this ending nicely? I suggest he learn to take the heat, coz from what I can see of this company he will likely be dealing with irate customers for a while. That's if his job doesn't fall through.
glad to see that interesting life of yours didn't keep you from coming back. I was sure you said you had better things to do.0 -

Has anyone else had the email saying they have credit amounting to what you spent in the sale, or order that did not turn up. Will anyone be using this credit? Will it affect a claim back? (they say not) Cheeky gits...0

Nope, not been offered any credit at all. I was offered nothing, not even advice. These morons sent me 2 emails, the first saying I would be offered some kind of alternative (that I was bring dealt with as a matter of priority), and then the second to say I was no longer getting any help but I could have 25% discount for my next order (as if I was stupid enough to shop with them again).
I will be making sure I spread the word not to deal with these liars.0 -

As we explained in detail in our last email we unfortunately have been unable to fulfil your order which we believe was unfulfilled by the previous owners of the web site.
We are recommending to all customers whose orders we have been unable to fulfil that you begin the process of claiming back any monies that have left your account in relation to this order immediately. If you encounter any difficulties with this please let us know and we will try and help you.
Rok Group have been and continue to be in discussions with the payment agents to aid the refund process. We do not have your banking/credit card details and the banks and credit card companies cannot legally share this data with us because of data protection issues.
We will post the liquidators details on the web site once they have been appointed following the creditors meeting of the previous owners of the web site.
It was not our intention that you would have to go through this process and we are really sorry for the inconvenience it is causing you. We also recognise that it may take some time for you to get your money back.
We therefore have decided to commit our funds to providing you with a Gift Voucher / Credit Code to use on our sites EQUAL IN VALUE to the amount of your unfulfilled order. Details of your Gift Voucher code are set out above. Please note that this Gift Voucher/Credit Code expires on 31 December 2010. These Gift Vouchers/Credit Codes cannot be used in conjunction with other offers on the web site. If you are having any difficulties contact the help desk who will be happy to help you maximise the value of our offers.
This offer of a Gift Voucher / Credit Code does not prevent you from being able to reclaim your monies from the bank/credit card company or from the liquidator.
If you have a part fulfilled order we understand that you may be encountering difficulties reclaiming your monies and we are having ongoing discussions with the payment agents to obtain detailed instructions regarding making a reclaim in these circumstances. We will write to those affected as soon as we have further information.
Finally Rok Group is offering all customers affected by the liquidation of the previous owners a special 25% OFF EVERYTHING promotional code. 'ROK25' entitles you to 25% OFF everything and is valid until 7 November 2010.
We value you as a customer of our web site. Although we have no legal obligation to do so we are striving to help you in every way possible.
