Why do you have to give notice to use your tastecard - I can understand if some places wish you to do that in case they are fully booked, but one chef in a small and less than half capacity seated restaurant was almost rude, when I forgot to mention tastecard when making the booking, and produced the tastecard to pay the bill, it was a genuine mistake, but he saw fit to come out from the kitchen and make an issue of it. There must be more to it than just making sure the restaurant isn't fully booked . . . .I think I'm normal . . . .0

Because that's the T&C's you accept. It's the restaurant's prerogative on how they want to operate it. Like most things on this site you need to play to the rules. On some occasions you win big. And on others you have a minor irritation of making a call that could save you ££££'s.0 -
Wow ! That's a huge saving - I was looking at tastecard only the other week - tempted now!0

Those who are highlighting issues with restaurants not living up to the terms, just report it to tastecard by mail - they investigate and take massive action on offenders as their reputation is important.
I know someone who went to one of the restaurants following all condition checking and ringing up procedures and on ordering was told "X Y and Z" are not part of the deal. They walked out and informed tastecard of the breach, tastecard apologised and restaurant was quickly banned from taste and removed from website.0 -
Experience Card is similar but gives lots of discounts on experiences and activities around London. They have a promotion on now for £24.99 instead of £35: EXPCARDXMAS12
It saved me over £40 in my first use!0 -
there's a mag offer on here somewhere buy 2 mags subs and get a tastecard0

I've had a Tastecard for years - and have saved a small fortune!
You do have to play by the rules and book ahead - though I once phoned to say I would be there in 5 minutes - which was fine :-), and I always always always mention the Tastecard before I order anything.
Have only ever had one bad experience which was the fault of the restaurant rather than taste, and tastecard swiftly removed them when I complained and they investigated.
It's very easy to save the cost of the card in one visit if there are 4 of you!0 -
I have a tastecard and I think it is fab. I live in Glasgow so there is quite a lot of choice though a lot of them are hotel restaurants. It is good if you enjoy eating out midweek. I have noticed that quite a few restaurants are now allowing you to use it on a Friday now too. If you want a cheap offer you can get it at the moment for £29.95 by using the code CRACKER12.
