I used to live in a flat with a reserved parking space, each flat had one, plus there were three visitor's spaces. Every now and then some inconsiderate person would park in my space, so I would either park across the back of their car, or the neighbour would park real close one side, and I would do the same on the other so they couldn't get in the car.
As previously mentioned, I would get a knock on the door:
"Can you move your car please?"
"Of course I can, I will move it when I go to work at 7.00AM" (said with a nice smile
"But I need to go home/go to work etc"
"But I needed to park in my space when I got in from work/shops etc"
"Please move it"
"When I go to work at 7.00AM"
"I will call the police!"
"Would you like to use my phone?"
Inconsiderate parker leaves without car..........0 -
and when it gets out of hand

No one has suggested the bounce method...
Someone parked across my parents drive my brother and i went out and bounced (you both get on either side of the car at a wheel arch and bounce the car together gathering momentum till you can move it easily) the car to the other side of the croft, you should have seen the confusion on the owners face when he got back.0 -
My father used to call the police, and they'd send someone around to tow the car away... they didn't park outside a second time.
I don't know if that's still possible.0 -
Or you could sprinkle some nails or drawing pins or sharp objects around the area they park - just remember to move them thought before you drive over!Weight Loss - 102lb0

A nice eco-friendly way to let somebody know you are a little miffed with their parking - and it's a !!!!! to get off the screen in the morning!
She must have emptied a full tank of windscreen washer trying to move the smears!!
She didn't park there again - and thankfully after another year they moved away.
I've only had to use this method once since then on a silly schoolteacher who thought I was being 'childish' in asking that he reverse four feet so I could get my car off the drive.
He doesn't bother parking near my drive now either.
In this situation - try Cooking Oil - it's not permanent - you've not had to physically or verbally abuse anybody - it doesn't feel like you're coming on too heavy - but it doesn't half make their life a bloody misery the next time they get in the car!!0 -
just to let everyone know - the car is back tonight (not seen it for a few days) and..............wait for it...................they managed to park (almost) not blocking the drive. they're still over it a bit but we can get the cars in and out. i seriously do not understand how this woman ever passed a driving test but she's better than she has been. (although there is still space in next door's car park and outside the flats there, but given that i can use the drive now i'm not going to get too picky!!!):happyhear0

all you do id knock on there do and say excuse me can you move your car as ive just had an accdent and im not that confident they will think that you will drive into their car and wreck it.
If they say no say well im sorry but that kerb has been dropped and by law you can not block it and im calling the police it is againstthe law to block off private property.0 -
MarkyMarkD wrote:Honestly, regularsaver1, this isn't worth getting worried about. I find it pathetic when I see "don't turn in this drive" signs - there's one on the entrance to a farm near us for goodness' sake. It's nowhere near any buildings.
If I'm faced with a 13-point turn or reversing into someone's drive, I'll reverse into someone's drive any day.
A few years ago I had one idiot who used to drop someone off near to me and then turn around up my drive, it's a large drive where he could turn around in one go.
I asked him 'politely' not to do it but he carried on.
Until one time I was on my drive throwing bricks across my garden and one 'accidentally' hit his door. He called the police and they agreed that if I wanted to throw bricks on my own private property then I can and it is upto the driver NOT to come up my drive .................. he hasn't done it again.0
