But I think the Universe is at work I have been pursuing an idea the last couple of days for getting back into work and have been trying to get in touch with a friend who might be able to help but haven't been able to find a work email address for her and was debating whether to telephone her over the weekend or to wait until the next time I saw her. I usually see her about 2/3 times a year but of course I met her coming out of Mr. T's today so that reallly took the decision out of my hands so I don't know whether anything will come of it but I have asked - this is so scarey so I am glad I was forced to do it rather than wibble about whether to make the phone call or not and she is lovely and I know she will really try for me so if it doesn't work I will have to try something else but at least I am trying :) I know very trying :):)

When I'm running up a hill, I always imagine an invisible giant hand is gently pushing my back to get me up the hill!
Perhaps that same hand is steering you towards where you are meant to be going and away from the Census.

I tried to post earlier about the possibility of the Government dropping the Census altogether - and that's the reason for all the stalling. Then I noticed KC has posted the same thing.....
After which, I read that there was staunch opposition to the Census posters regarding questions on religion and they are having to re-do them, so I think they have rather a lot on at the moment!
Think I'd stick to Law :D

Hope something works out with your friend. You are definitely being steered away from the census.

I am very sure that everything is happening for a reason - it is just that sometimes we don't always see immediately why, but it generally all makes perfect sense eventually.

I have absolute faith in you x

Lovely day here so about to go out and do some gardening :j

I know why I had to change plans for Sunday School craft today as 14 children turned up and I would never have had enough for them all to do if I had stuck with the original craft and that was with two regulars missing but thankfully the new craft was more flexible so that was a big relief :) nice to have a large group of children though we must be doing something right but it does make planning difficult when it can be anything from 3 children to 16.

I was just thinking about what is happening over the next few weeks its my Mom's 95th birthday at the end of the month and my son is coming home the weekend before to celebrate that and my sisters are coming in two weeks time overnight. It has just made me realise that my grand daughters birthday will fall on Mothering Sunday this year which is going to be very hard for us all but particularly for my daughter so I think I need to have a word with her and see how she would like the day to go it is only right that she should have it the way she wants I don't want to upset her any more than she will be upset anyway.

Time really flies, it seems like only a few months since you announced the baby's birth, so this year will be really difficult for you all. Hope you sort something out with your daughter.

Ok NOT a premium bond win this time but potentially just as good. My friend has come good :D
I know a lot of people on here will be are able to say told you so but the last few days I have decided that I would give child care law a go after all. Why the change of heart?
    1. Conveyancing where I feel most comfortable is not really a goer because of the economic climate and is becoming more and more just a paper shuffling exercise because when I was doing it there were a lot of first registrations which were interesting and at times challenging but these are getting less and less as time goes on it is going to get boring
    2. Private client work has always been boring as far as I am concerned
    3. I would need to update anyway so why not update in a totally different area - I have done some child protection law courses as a foster carer and just because I am in the system I know some of what goes on.
    4. I really want to work with children and how better as a lawyer can I help children than working in a child protection situation.
My friend works for the next nearest local authority to me that I am not involved with either as a foster carer or being on their fostering panel and as they are to the east of me are slightly more language friendly and in fact are based in the next nearest town to me that I was likely to get a job as a solicitor if I was extremely lucky. I asked her if she would ask the legal department if they would be willing to let me shadow someone to see how it is done and get some experience she emailed them yesterday and they have said YES so I have to phone them to arrange it tomorrow.
OK so it is not a job but who knows what it may lead to and it is a good start and is definitely what I need to increase my confidence and my employability.
    Still scared though:o

Playing to your strengths is always going to be a good move. Shadowing someone will give you useful experience from the other side.

Good for you for going for it.
