Nat West are starting to increase rates on some of their savings ie 1 year ISA and 1/2 year fixed so we might see something happen to the e saving as I was told last week unless this extended bonus is Nat West seeing what the rest of the banks are going to do first. Anyone that has not got this message I advise contacting Nat West to find out what they are doing, this filtering seems daft to me and will lose them business I am sure. In case anyone is wondering I do not work for Nat West in fact its not even my main bank.

I have not recieved any confirmation of the extended bonus rate. I spoke to Natwest Private Banking this morning who said they were only told of the extension last week and that letters would be sent out in due course. He said if i left the cash were it was then i would get the bonus interest for another YEAR.
I am not about to rely upon a telephone call so will ask for written confirmation of this.0 -
Don't be too quick to close these accounts. No letter for me but online banking tells me ""We are extending the period of bonus interest on your e-Savings account. This means you will continue to earn an additional 1.85% Gross p.a. (fixed) on your savings until 14th February 2012. There is nothing for you to do now but if you'd like to make the most of your bonus interest you can transfer additional money to your account today".
If there's a new account launched with better rates and the same Faster Payments access I'd use that instead, else it's a nice extension.0 -
I'm wondering whether it has anything to do with the fact I had this account with them before, then when the rate dropped to 1% I opened a new e-saver account as they started the offer again but for new accounts only.
It cant have anything to do with that as I did exactly the same thing that you did, and I get the message now.0 -
I had a letter on 1st October and my account was opened end of September 10, so as others suspect these letters are probably going out in line with time of account opening.0

My message is that it has been extended for 4 months onlyWe are extending the period of bonus interest on your e-Savings account. This means you will continue to earn an additional 1.85% Gross p.a. (fixed) on your savings until 14th February 2012. There is nothing for you to do now but if you'd like to make the most of your bonus interest you can transfer additional money to your account today.
I transferred the majority of the money out of the account in prepartion for the bonus removal and also hold an empty e-Savers Plus account. Must have opened it on 15th October last year as I'd put a note in to move by 14th.0 -
Just wanted to let you know that I finally have the message on my account! My mum also got the message on hers today too. Anyone who hadn't received it, make sure you check to see if you've got in now!0

I had this message too - opened my account on 6/10 but not had any letters from them, just online banking message. It will keep me going until feb as I do like their online service if not their 'phone/branch "service"& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

I opened mine in Oct 2010, still have a balance and just checked my account and I have the message. I've not had a letter but I'm not that concerned either way as I'll be looking around for better deals as usual anyway. It's hardly a ground breaking account, just ok in the scheme of things.0
