Don't be too quick to close these accounts. No letter for me but online banking tells me ""We are extending the period of bonus interest on your e-Savings account. This means you will continue to earn an additional 1.85% Gross p.a. (fixed) on your savings until 14th February 2012. There is nothing for you to do now but if you'd like to make the most of your bonus interest you can transfer additional money to your account today".
If there's a new account launched with better rates and the same Faster Payments access I'd use that instead, else it's a nice extension.
The extended info should be on your account page mine has just arrived.0 -

I appear not to have this message for either my NatWest or RBOS eSavers. My accounts were opened in Oct 2010. Does anyone have this mesaage for an October opened account or just for a September opened account?0 -
Have message despite zero balance and last transaction being £1 cheque withdrawal to close!
I have other instant access online accounts that are still paying 3% + so I have no regrets about closing the account especially since the bonus extension is only until February.0 -
Unfortunately I don't have this message on my account!
I have logged in to my boyfriends natwest account and he does have the message!!
I'm a little worried, are they only going to be extending the rate for certain people?
Also, how do I find out the exact date that I opened the account?
Any info would be much appreciated!
Thanks guys!0 -
You can look at the online statement to see your first transaction to help find when you opened the account.0

This random selection of customers must be costing them a lot of cash I am taking 10K a day out until I get the confirmation of a sensible rate.0

It most definitely will. I've been looking into moving the money else where because the rate would be dropping and I'm sure many others have already done so. If I could continue with this rate though I would much rather keep my money with natwest. Ive asked my mum, who also has the e-saver to check hers, and she doesn't have the message either. We both opened our accounts before I opened the one for my boyfriend, so if they were sending the message out to customers in order, it wouldn't make sense as to why he has the message and we don't. I'm wondering whether it has anything to do with the fact I had this account with them before, then when the rate dropped to 1% I opened a new e-saver account as they started the offer again but for new accounts only. Maybe they think I've had this rate for ling enough!? Not very happy, I will have to contact Natwest soon to find out!
Apologies for the rambling!!0
