  • This may be a silly suggestion, but should we have a list on the OP with everyone who's trying to lose weight (or inches), what their targets are, and their achievements to date? It might help to keep us motivated...

    :T Good idea!
  • Definitely a good idea! I'm happy to amend the post if everyone wants to post that info. Should we have a group target do you think? Like, how much everyone wants to lose by Christmas?

    Great idea!

Today I have downloaded an app to my phone called My fitness pal, liking it so far. I'm keeping track of all I eat, plus it has measurements record for waist, hips and neck, not so sure I need to do the neck, but have put the measurements in anyway!!!

Ideas for today are also, wii fit, it's sitting in a cupboard collecting dust, where it has been since we bought it really!!:o

And I also have a few dvd's.... most in the wrappers!! Time to get them out!!

Lets do this brides to be, we will all look fab!!! :j

can i join please? I successfully got from a 14 to a 10 when i got divorced, but i've crept back up to a 12. I realise that 12 is perfectly reasonable, but i can't afford a new wardrobe of clothes!

    Hi all!

I would like to join pretty please! I'm also like twirly in that I'm not overweight but want to look a bit better and not start buying the next size up! I have been everything from an 8 to a 14 in the last decade, currently a large 10/small 12. I'm 5'3" and little-boned so I look better at around 8st 5lb (size 8-10), but am currently 9st 2lb.

I have lost and gained the same 4lb about five times in the last year which is doing my head in!!! I have an allotment which I walk to (2 miles each way) whenever I can and I walk to college 1 1/2 miles away twice a week. I don't currently do any other exercise.

I've recently started working in a chocolate shop :T which is great but I have so far failed miserably in not taking full advantage of samples...

My aim is to lose 12lb by 15th January, which is just under 1lb a week. I want to be the size I will be on my wedding day in 2012 (or as close as possible) so that I can start my dress without worrying about adjusting it too much later.

Maddie_S, please add me to your OP :)

Good luck with your plans everyone x

  • Could you add me in too please?

I'm not getting married until next November, so have plenty of time to lose the weight, but trying to get started now so that when I look for dresses in the new year I have a chance of being able to try some on.

My weight loss has been really up and down of late. I started losing weight in the summer, and lost 15lbs, but because of some tough things going on I've ended up comfort eating it all back on again. I started properly back on Slimming World last week, and managed a 2.5lb loss, so hopefully that's me properly back on track. Overall I want to lose 2 and a half stone, but by Christmas I'd like to be a stone lighter again.

Perfect, If you are going to update your original post please can you put me down for a loss of 20 lbs by Christmas, then a total of 56lb ()by easter! Agghhrr scary stuff big numbers but that is 2lbs a week so easily achievable!

I don't exactly have a target weight to reach or anything. I'm a size 12 and at 5'9" I'm happy with that. I just need to lose a couple of inches from my waist so that my dress doesn't feel tight and I can actually eat on the day, and tone up a bit so I don't have chins in the photos or flapping bingo wings through the ceremony.

Bring on the crunches, arm exercises and making funny faces a la Jonny Depp. Mmmmm Jonny Depp....:D
