Anyone trying to lose weight for their wedding?

I'm hanging in there!! I'm going off for a soak in the bath in the bit then allowing myself a drink and snack later as my supper and I won't feel guilty as I haven't been grazing since tea like I usually do. Helps being occupied doesn't it - last night I spent ages clearing out my sons room and didn't eat at all but if I'm sat at the pc or watching telly I seem to have to have something to eat with it
Well done on the apple...I buy lots of fruit in and intend to snack on it but then find the mini Mars instead lol0 -
I did think about trying slimming world or similar but tbh, I thought that I might get a bit of grief as although I've put weight on for me i'm still a size ten. I'm really small boned tho and all the extra weight has gone to my hips/thighs/bum so I really really hate it. Is slimming world aimed at people trying to lose more?
I could join, but not if I was 7st 13Ib, if you see what I mean.
Unfortunately, I am not 8stI am currently 10st 7Ib-ish and aiming for 9st so bang in middle of healthy weight range for my BMI.

Thanks Laura2481! I was thinking about slimming world as well but was a bit worried that I would be laughed out as I'm roughly a size 10-12! However because I'm only 5' I'm actually overweight by 3 st 9lbs to my lowest healthy bmi! Don't really want to lose that much though!
I did join a gym in April, but lost motivation to go :wall: I was really enjoying doing a couch to 5k program but kept getting shin splints which are really uncomfortable. I do have a wii fit and a yoga dvd so am trying to get the motivation to alternate these in the morning, just a little bit hard when sharing a house and everyone is getting up around the same time and the mornings are really dark!
Such excuses, good thing I have just under two years to lose it0 -
Well, since i started the thread, i've been rubbish! I'm at my desk with grapes and water in front of me, so feeling semi virtuous but did just have a weetos cereal bar! (which was yummy btw!)
Must must must go to the gym tonight.0 -

I'm trying to lose 1.5 - 2 stone and am following WW, which I have sucessfully lost weight on before. I'm trying to exercise more with running and workout dvds. I've just bought Tracy Anderson mat workout, have any of you ladies ever done her workouts? I haven't done it yet, just watched through the dvd - she seems to pout alot, but hey as long as it works!0

I'd recommend https://www.weightlossresources.co.uk - especially for people who don't want to/can't get to a Slimming World/Weightwatchers type of thing. It's purely calorie counting so nothing is forbidden, but the key concept is filling in a food diary every day and logging everything you consume.
There is loads of support on the forums and so much information (food database is enormous, exercise database as well, and lots of articles written by dieticians and nutritionists etc). Costs £9.95 per month if you pay monthly going down to £7.95 per month if you pay half-yearly. I've been there since mid-August and have lost nearly a stone in that time (I am aiming to lose nearly 2 stone in total by mid-Jan), I've also found it really helpful in making me think about what I'm eating and how many calories I "waste" in unfilling, unhealthy food! Definitely recommend it0 -
Well I've fallen off the waggon AGAIN
But in the last 2 weeks I've resumed belly dancing with a new teacher and am getting much more of a workout there, continuing pilates to get the tone, and have started zumba classes. Just wish it wasn't approaching Christmas with the cold weather and the lure of far too many evil goodies. I really should be motivated - I have my first visit over to Linda in 3 weeks, I know she can accommodate weight loss plans but I'm not sure where my plan went!

I so meant to start mine.... hmmm... you think that the wedding would motivate me!
I have no idea why I haven't been able to kick my butt into it tho... :-(
Hopefully it will be a better week this week, but then it's half term and OH and I are off to visit both sets of parents etc (I am a teacher btw!)
AAaaaaarrrgggghhhhhhh!

I lost 1.5lbs this week
I had to be extra good Monday - Thursday (my WW meeting is Thursday night) as I'd gone a bit overboard at the weekend :embarasse so had to make up for it.
Only 1lb more to go and I'll have lost a stone and a half since I ordered my dress
Hopefully my dress should arrive in about 6 weeks so I'll be able to go try it on and find out if I need to lose any more (when I was measured when I ordered my dress I was between two sizes so I went for the smaller size as I had already started WW) so I'm hoping I'm on track! I'm really nervous though, am really worried it still won't fit and I'll only have 6 weeks or so to fit into it (wedding is middle of January...) but I hope I'm worrying about nothing...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0
