It's inch loss I'm more bothered by....to be honest if my weight stayed the same but if I toned up, trimmed down and could get in smaller clothes I'd be happy regardless of what the scales said :)

As long as I look thinner I'm not too bothered about the scales to be honest :rotfl: but seem to have plateaued with both inch and lb loss :(

:rotfl:Same here! I've lost 4 inches off my waist and a couple off my hips and that's the main thing!

  • First of all, well done on the weight loss so far ladies! It's very impressive. My ten pounds is basically the weight I gained since moving in with my boyfriend so trying to get back to my old habits!

Going to try and get to the gym at least twice in the next week and hopefully having to report back here will help!

I joined slimming world at end of July and so far have lost 12 pounds and have found it easy to follow and you can still have treats such as chocolate.
  • Hi Maddie,

I'm getting married in June and am also hoping to lose weight! In July I joined the local leisure centre, it cost's me £30 a month for gym, classes and swimming and I can do any of these as much as I want so I find its really good value for money. I basically spend most of my evenings down there, I am very lucky as my fiance also goes to the gym and some of my friends and family have recently joined. However, the staff are so friendly and helpful you shouldn't be put off by going to the gym or attending classes by yourself, you'll find you will make new friends in no time. I find going to classes is really fun and as they are completed in an hour they don't take up much of the evening! A workout at the gym takes longer but I still really enjoy it. I got a programme done at the gym when I joined in July and I am seeing the instructor again this week for a review where my workout will stepped up a level and I will finally find out if I have lost any weight/fat/gained muscle. In any case I feel so much better, I enjoy getting out in the evenings and i'm enjoying seeing my body shape change. You should just go for it, i'm sure you will be pleased with the results! Good luck x

Im trying to lose a little weight, but its more inches than lbs. My upper arms are a little flabby lookings, i have "thunder thighs" and a bit of a podge, but i dont look overweight particularly. I put it all on this last 6 months when i went back to college and tried to live the student lifestyle, and the rapid gain has left me with terrible red stretch marks on the tops of my legs.

If i go to the gym a couple of times a week and tone up a bit then everything will look right, but its hard getting motivated. :-(

I am trying to as my wedding is in April. Doing it slowly but getting there i think. I am a size 14 5ft 4 and 12 stone 3. so am "Obese" for my height really and my BMI is more than it should be. My weight for my height should be 9stone 4 i think???!! and ideally i want to be back in my size 8 - 10 clothes - not sure how far i will get to that before my wedding day but ill be giving it a good shot. Think i may join up to slimming world but dont really fancy it on my own................

Another one trying to tone up a wee bit/try not to gain any weight. I'm a terrible evening grazer. Fine when I'm with H2B but he'll go off to play computer or whatever and I sit watching tv and wandering into the kitchen to get some yummy bad food. Crisps are my biggest weakness so I've banned them from the house. I used to run 3x a week but broke the routine by going on holiday, then I was ill then I did go back out and I injured myself so not got back into the routine and the weather has turned now, the mornings are getting dark and it's harder to motivate myself. My Bmi is normal so its more a matter of making sure the weight doesn't creep back on between now and September. Work have a reasonably priced gym so I will join that.
