  • Hi Coupon-Mad, thanks for the reply. It does make you mad to be honest and it's very upsetting :(. Don't know about anyone else but one minute I am determined the next I'm 'shall I just pay and be done with it' lol - I just keep reading your threads and I feel better.

It sounds like the APCOA guys are hiding out just waiting for the opportunity to get unsuspecting people. Wrong, just wrong. I'll keep eveyone updated with progress and help with the fight against these criminals. :D

I felt such a fool/mad/upset incurring an £80 fine just because I think they are so cheeky to charge £1 for the drop off (Birmingham do the same). Trouble is though they are clever and the incentive to pay it quick to get it reduced to £40 is sometimes too strong. Without this forum though I would not have had the confidence to "rebel", I'd have just paid it....so once again, well done everyone! No way am I going to pay it now:T!
  • Good for you Mickiengland. Expect a torrent of threatening letters. If the scum had the law on their side, they would take you straight to court instead of sending their pathetic threatograms.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

Got this morning a PARKING ENFORCEMENT NOTICE from APCOA. Date of issue is 20/9, but only recieved the letter today...

"Notice is hereby served to the owner of the vehicle registration mark xxxxxx

For the alleged contravention of 03- Entry into a restricted area

At LUTON AIRPORT on x/x/10 at xx:xx

The alleged contravention is a BREACH OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE of the Airport road infrastructure and signs are clearly displayed throughout the area showing these terms and conditions.

A charge of £80.00 is payable and must be paid before the end of the period of 28 days beginning with the date of this notice. If the charge is paid before the end of the period of 14 days beginning with the date of service of this notice, the amount of the charge will be reduced by 50%. If the above charge is not paid before the end of the 28 day period, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS MATTER MAY BE PASSED TO A THIRD PARTY FOR THE RECOVERY OF THIS DEBT"

I just stopped to drop off my sister , it took me exactly 5 seconds and then I drove from there. I read all the history of the PPC in the threads here and I understand I should not pay. Your advise will be appreciated.

In a "perfect" timing for Christmas I got the letter from Roxburghe Debt Collectors , here is a scan (I removed all personal information):

Total hogwash. The registered keeper does not have to disclose the identity of the driver. And they wonder why we hold these PPCs in deep contempt.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Best of it is, they are trying to imply on the ticket, that the driver by accepting their one sided unfair contract, is binding the owner whomsoever they be, this would also be by their reckoning a finance company if the motor is on HP. Like to see them try that one on in court if a finance co repoed a motor.

"Well XXX Finance are liable for the £150 fine (invoice) plus costs of £100 because the then registered keeper overstayed by 10 minutes over a 2 hour restricted period"

I think the finance company would vigorously defend. on privity of contract. the boundaries are too wide, they may as well say the driver is binding the entire population of the UK.

Also in regards to the registered keeper, under the terms they put at the end means if you are a female RK their terms don't apply to them lol

Really its a pathetic attempt to s**m people out of money!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Rudess can you change the size of the picture in tinypic or wherever as the whole post is now difficult to read.
