Yes - your question is amply covered in this thread and many many others here.

The whole thing is a big dollop of steaming poop - Keep ignoring them! :)

The only conclusion with roxburghe is that if you ignore them and their pretend solicitors graham white they will go away. They I believe have only attempted the small claims once in their history, it was thrown out as the claim was barely in legible English. So just ignore and don't get stressed as its pointless.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I have read many things on various websites and most, if not all appear to say this is a scam and do not pay.

Please can someone with experience in a similar situation or indeed with a legal background help me to understand if there is any substance to these letters/PCN/debt collectors' letters? If there are grounds to the claims should I pay? What should I do? I have been ignoring the letters so far.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Welcome to MSE!

    Easy answer to your questions:

    - yes I have had 2 fake PCNs and ignored them and yes it's a scam that you can safely ignore.

    - No there is no substance to the template letters these scammers send out. They are very similar to a series of phishing emails and you wouldn't think there was substance to one of those telling you that you'd won the Nigerian Lottery would you?

    - No there are no grounds to this 'invoice' (it's not a claim, or a fine, or a parking ticket or penalty).

Your case is no different than any others of the thousands of threads on here, on this board.

Have you read the current threads, the sticky info second from the top of the board, watched the Watchdog clip, seen the letter-chain pics? You have typed out a letter that we already have in our pictures on this very forum!

Any private 'parking charge notice' is a scam, whatever the circumstances, even if someone parked sideways in a parent & child bay for 3 days.

Of course you just ignore the whole thing, this forum is clear with the advice and I have ignored a fake PCN like yours myself. Look at the current threads on the same forum you found this on, not just the comments on this random old thread.

Click here, I have made it easy:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163

All those you see near the top are new threads or posts today, every single day on this forum. All posters here with a fake PCN like yours are simply ignoring the PPC (private parking company).

Please read first the sticky thread 'PPC letters/threats' second from the top of the forum.

Watch the Watchdog video - featuring a fake PCN with photos of a car, just like yours - and look at the preview pictures of letters they will send the registered keeper. Panic ye not for the whole thing is a mail scam.

Finally - as you posted on an oldish long thread, not your fault - you may have completely missed the current forum and sticky advice threads? This thread is an old one to bump - no need to bump it with another reply - but maybe you need some help to navigate a forum? You are writing as if this is the only thread...;):D

Quick forum use tip for forum novices:

When you Google and find a random thread on any online forum, take a step back and look at the sub-forum, the board the thread sits on and read the info threads at the top which are called 'stickies' as they stick permanently at the top of the board like notices.

To do this, look at the top of this page for the blue link starting Home > Forums > and so on (it's in small writing, always written as a chain-link on any forum, always with > inbetween each step, and it ends with the name of this thread).

    Hope that makes sense.

Now if you try clicking on the right-hand end of the breadcrumb trail link on a forum you can vew the current threads. Please read the stickies (info threads at the top that I mentioned) by clicking on the end of the Home > Forums > 'breadcrumb link' at the top.

My signature tells you what to click on to read the current forum, for future reference - in fact I have given you the link to it above this time.

    Hi
APCOA has send a Debt collection letter from ROXBURGHE debt collectors demanding £138.

The following clause is included in the letter
"If you were not the driver at the time of the unauthourised parking eventplease contact us to let us know who it was. It is in your best interest to contact us so we can resolve this matter without recourse to further action.. If we do not hear from you we will pass the matter to our solicitors

We are fully aware of anecdotal information being presented on internent on various websitesand you may well feel this guidance is worth following. We strongly urge you to seek independant legal adviserather than rely on those opinions"

i dont know what to do. I am now worried that this can be passed to lawyers and that will enquire me a lot more debt or have these debtors haunting you

    Thank you

When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
