    Good morning all

AF here last night :) I do feel so much better the mornings after when I haven't drunk, it really does make me wonder what makes me do it!

Anyway, last day off of work today. Am dropping Piglet off at school and then heading down to see my Mum for a couple of hours. We have plans that involve sky+'d episodes of Nurse Jackie, coffee and almond croissants!!:D

Also...some good news....Stepdaughter has an interview!!:T Its for a Waitrose in the town near her. Full time (should be interesting - she text OH to say she was shattered because her Mum made her do some cleaning!!:rotfl:). Interview not for a week or so but are keeping our fingers crossed!

    Miss P
    xx

Well done on the AF Sunday MissP (and everyone else who managed one). I know it's a state of mind thing but I definitely think AF days are harder at weekends.

I hope those are the calorie-free almond croissants you're planning?;)

It is good news about your StepD, Waitrose is a good company to get in with and it'll do her good to have a proper job. Fingers crossed and welcome to the real world!
  • Does anybody know how Jo1972 is? If you are around, Jo, hope everything is going OK for you. And Budgie too - hope all OK with you, little birdie?

I think one of my problems is going to be socialising - my 2 main friends are both heavy red wine drinkers and I won't be popular if I'm not drinking along with them.
DH doesn't drink at all, took the pledge when he was 22 and hasn't had a drink since. Friends tend to view him with suspicion, even though we've been married and they've know him for 16 years!

I'm not planning any socialising until half term in 2 weeks so hopefully I will be feeling better then

But then if they oppose you not drinking are they really friends?

Welcome new people :j have a read back there are lots of good ideas of how to treat yourself other ways than having a drink.

I am on 6 please Shaggy and Sunday done please Pen. Testing times today as I was too pooped during the weekend to do my shopping and there is no avoiding it much longer. Going to the shop after work is a big no no so I might do a detour by the chocolates instead the drinks. I am going running in the morning so some extra chocolate is better than having had drink previous night.
"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

  • Hi everyone and welcome to the newcomers, jobags I was a red wine drinker myself so your story is very very familiar. I just couldnt get the balance right, I tried to stick to a bottle of red on a Friday night only, then it crept to Saturday, then Monday, then I was feeling so cr*p by Wednesday I had to have something to take the edge off things and so on and so on until I thought oh blow this I am a cr*p cutter downer I`m gona go for being a stopper altogetherer and guess what ? there is life after red wine..................its wonderful and dont worry about what your friends say, truth be known they`ve been worrying about their alcohol consumption too. So many people I speak to these days are worried by the amount they are drinking even if at first they wont admit it.

7 AF DAYS SO FAR THANKS SHAGGY.

Ahem....um....croissants weren't calorie free but were rather nice!:D Mum feeling much brighter and dad left some money when he went to work so we could go out to lunch. That was nice too!:D

Yes, we are all pleased about Stepd. Keeping our fingers crossed!

Hows the foot?? Hope you're keeping it rested!
