5 for me, please, Shaggy. I wasn't AF last night - allowed myself my usual Saturday night units. We were supposed to be going out to a comedy evening, but DH got car stuck in a huge, lake-puddle and had to call out the RAC. Engine flooded - I do hope it dries out OK, can do without that sort of cost.
Ho hum, such is life. :j Have a good Sunday, everybody xJan: 24/23 Feb: 21/22 March: 24/250 -
I fell asleep last night around 4 and woke up just before nine.
So it was very much an AF night. BF was here to see that DD had her tea and got to bed.
SOS - oh no about the car, hope you got it sorted without big cost/trouble
Shaggy - 5 please
Pen - can I please join the challenge?"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Hi - can I join you?
I've been drinking a bottle of wine every night for a number of years (apart from when pregnant) and it's now crawling up to 2 bottles a night and I'm losing many things including my memory and self respect. Fortunatley I still have my family (OH and 3 children) and my job.
I'm sick of drinking myself into stupor every night and crashing into bed at night waking up unable to remember what happened the previous night.
I've seen so many films and I am unable to remember then ending of most of them
I didn't drink last night and I feel really rough today.
I had to take a sleeping tablet at around 5 this morning as I couldn't sleep, I eventually woke up at 11 and feel dreadful.
Has anyone got any idea how long this is likely to go on for?
I suppose I would feel better if I have a drink but I really don't want to or I will only feel worse later on.
I can't say I have given up drinking forever but I would like a week or two off just to prove to myself that I can do it and to give my liver a rest.
Anyone able to share their experiences?

Thanks to those who sent commiserations about the car!! I dug out the old battery charger, but it needs a fuse, so poor old DH has gone off to H*lfords to try to get one. The unfortunate bit is that he is completely unpractical so I hope he gets the battery back in the car OK eventually!!
Jobags - good for you on taking a stance on your wine habit. I've been on this thread for almost two years now, and it's really helped me to control my cravings. It takes time, it's not something which happens immediately, it's like a completely new way of life in some ways. For example, I never thought I would be able to go out with friends for a meal and only drink sparkling water when they were all drinking wine - but I do this with no problem now. I just say something like I have to get up early the next day or something. However, my once per week wine allowed night sometimes ends up with me having rather too many units. Good luck.Jan: 24/23 Feb: 21/22 March: 24/250 -

I think one of my problems is going to be socialising - my 2 main friends are both heavy red wine drinkers and I won't be popular if I'm not drinking along with them.
DH doesn't drink at all, took the pledge when he was 22 and hasn't had a drink since. Friends tend to view him with suspicion, even though we've been married and they've know him for 16 years!
I'm not planning any socialising until half term in 2 weeks so hopefully I will be feeling better thenDebt @ 31.01.10 £324,422
