She`s never done this before and she leaves school completely in May but oh boy is she a challenge if anything will drive me back to drink she will. But I havent drunl alc sinc December and I`m not going to let her drive me to it.
My birthday today so going to the cinema to see Black Swan with troublesome daughter (trying to spend a bit of mum/ girl time together) and her friend. So hopefully this will be a nice evening.0 -

Well done on your abstinence despite trying times. I have girls myself and, although now grown up, I remember the teenage years so well!
Have a lovely time at the cinema and

I have to admit, I haven't managed an AF day yet this month... which is making me surprisingly stressed! I think it is the "star chart effect", (as I am going to call it) but its negative side - I feel like the one in the corner with the safety scissors who just can't seem to get any stars!
Anyway, I don't think I've been drinking too much; two small/medium glasses of red on Tuesday, an impromptu night out on Wednesday (only two pints of lager and two jagerbombs... Ooh I slept badly after those!) and one mojito last night, as Mr Lotti got given some lovely rum he is very proud of and he's wanted me to try it since Christmas! (Excuses, excuses...).
I have "reasons" for drinking tonight (rugby), tomorrow (friends for dinner) and Sunday (superbowl - Mr Lotti is desperate for me to watch it with him!) too, but I would rather not drink tonight and Sunday. I'll just have to get too thoroughly involved in watching the sports, and refuse beer when offered! :rotfl: Aaaargh wish me luck!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

February is proving to be more difficult than January. Only strategy that seems to be working is to steer away from the shops. By the time I get home there is no force big enough (not even port) to get me back out.

Evening all........ Hi Mackers,
sorry- I can't comment on MIL's- as I don't have a husband.. (thank god....;);))
Well, busy day. Was working from home as I had my first crown fitted.... no pain- had that last week when I was in the chair for an hour with the drill !!
Got my car back- woo hoo !!!!!!!!! It looks all new and shiny and I could've cried when I got in it- missed it so much !! I know that sounds ridiculous (and it's not even that new- 5 years old- but I've had it from new...not even flashy or anything, just love my car !!)
Good job it wasn't on my insurance- repairs were 2 grand !!:eek::eek:
Found passport- suitcase is down from the loft.. need to get packing !!! Mackers- I have 7 more sleeps- go on Friday VERY early !! Diet has kind of slowed down..... still being really healthy but been so busy at work, I haven't had time to go to the gym more than twice this week. Am going to go tomorrow though, and then at the hairdressers, then out for dinner tomorrow night. Uh oh for the diet and not drinking !! (Chinese):eek::eek:
Have a good night all- off to pack !!;)

Good luck.
I was the only person who drank my drinks, the only one who poured it down my own throat. No-one else did.
It took me a long time to realise that I used to drink on any occasion.
Doing many of these things sober now, I realised that none required me to drink, I drank because I wanted to drink.
I used to feel stressed at myself if I was drinking too much too...the only way (for me) to alleviate this is not to drink.
I remember at one of my first meetings, someone said to me that "you don't HAVE to drink" and that was a revelation to me! So obvious but I never knew it.....0 -

Your moderation is a positive lotti. Shaggy was saying earlier how she counts her units so you haven't done too badly. It's ever so difficult when 'occasions' crop up. Just try to build in AF nights in the down time when you can.
Obviously having an AF home suits you best marru. I'm sorry to hear you're struggling but if you don't buy, you can't drink! It must be good for your bank balance too!:)0 -
Evening everyone,
Well, DH got the weekly shop in today while I was still at work and he didn't bring me any wine!!! I told him I'm cutting back so he didn't bother with the booze aisle (he rarely drinks anyway which helps). Warm milk for me then! Looking forward to another lethargic free day tomorrow......might even iron...!
4 AF please Shaggy.

Thanks maman - and the fact it isn't in my frugal budget. But I do forget that when I am tired so steering away from the shops is the only way.Evening everyone,
