Hi marru, we love Labradors, our lad will be 3 in May and is as bouncy as he was at 3months!!

    Have a good day all

    Lala x

I got my first black lab when I was 14, lost her when she was 8. But then got my second in my mid twenties and she lived to be almost 16, still miss her thou. My BF has a black lab so that helps a bit.

Resisted temptation last night twice. We were at nephew's 8th b'day party and twice was offered a lager, thankfully it was easy to say no and stick to the water. I even managed to avoid being the buffet hoover and just had the veg sticks with a little dip.

Saturday I am going to the football then out in Manc later so will be interesting how much I drink. It's usually one at Stalybridge station, two in pub in Leeds, one at half time and one in pub on walk back into Leeds. I have only had one pint of ale in three weeks so I had better watch the units.

Anyway have a good weekend folks.

  • Morning Campers,

No AF for me last night I'm afraid folks, it was just too easy to have a glass of wine with dinner and then interval drinks etc etc....no excuse although and will make a huge effort next week to have atleast 5 AF days.

The Opera was OK, very simple story line, boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy nearly loses girl, boy gets girl back, happy ending blah blah blah!!! Not dissimilar to Panto but without the heckling and lots of warbling in German....thank heavens for sub-titles.

Hope everyone is OK today, I am so glad it's Friday, although I have a night out planned that I could really do without as I am quite tired and would love a night on the sofa watching mindless tv.

    Take care all,

    JJ x

    Afternoon all,
Was nice to wake up this morning without any fuzzy-headedness and a full glass of water next to me instead of an empty one :T
@ StressedOutSue - my job is not bi-lingual per se but I do speak French. Not quite as fluent as I used to be though! Well done on your restraint while in Germany though! I'm sure I won't be able to abstain while I'm away, especially given who I'm travelling with! At least it will only be one night out there.

@MarkMan - Just take it one day at a time. Every day AF is one to be proud of.

@ MissP - Thanks for the "well done"! Sorry to hear about the MIL issue though & subsequesnt "lapse", but really well done for pouring the rest of the vino down the sink... if that had been me there wouldn't have been any left to pour away! :o Definitely something I need to work on...

@ Shaggy - thanks for the tips. Could I downgrade my target days to 14 AF for Feb, just in case? Would feel better to hit target rather than fail for 2nd month in a row! I really need to check what's coming out before I decide on these targets!!

I've not decided 100% on weekend but think I am going to refrain from going out on saturday night. The taxi ride home is prohibitively expensive, unless sharing with a big group (which I'm not, I'll be alone). Plus all my expenses that I will incur for the France trip will come out of this month's pay but not be reimbursed until the following month  so this will screw up my budget big time. Hey-hoo, if she complains I will just apologise and hope she accepts it.

Hope everyone is having a happy Friday,
    Bear xx

and then an other MIL incident in the evening. She text OH to say that because she is unwell - she has a cold- she had rung the kids mum and said we won't be having the kids this weekend!!!! The cheek of that woman is unreal. Her and FIL pick the kids up for us on the friday and we collect them from there. I've now told her in future we will collect the kids. Had to take some control back. And breathe.......

Oh her again!!! I'm not impressed with her caring attitude to grandchildren if she cancels their weekend just because she has a cold! Selfish b****! As bear said, at least it wasn't a whole bottle and the headache is probably a bit stress related too. Look on the bright side, you don't have to go to work!

I managed an AF night last night so that is 3/22 for me please Shaggy! This is a first for me for a loooong time. Surprising how much a challenge thread can motivate me!

Well done lala. I think we're all children at heart and respond well to our star chart and a bit of praise and encouragement.

    Oh bliss!

Glad you 'enjoyed' your night at the opera. I would have had a drink too if I'd had dinner out and made a night of it. I only manage AF when it's a local performance and we eat at home before we go.

I had minor surgery on my ankle yesterday - a sore spot that wouldn't heal and looked dodgy. So I have to rest up for a week and be waited on hand and foot (especially foot;)). Will need to be extra careful tonight or perhaps limping out to fridge to fetch a drink will put me off. I must not just have a bottle at my elbow!

Hope everyone's having a happy day.

3 AF days for Feb please Shaggy

Hi everyone and welcome to the the newbies and nice to see you around Daisy C bet are you getting excited for your hols? How many sleeps now til you head for LA??
Thanks everyone for the postives re weight loss, Janjan, im not too sure there is a secret to my success, i feel like ive been on a diet FOREVER but this time around im losing more weight quicker which i put down to having less alcohol = less nibbling and also im trying to do 2 Zumba classes a week. Im following the WW plan to the letter but i know that i wont be able to sustain it, i will envariably hit a plateau and get fed up and then go way off track.....then couple of months later go back to WW and start all over again and so the cycle continues. I figure i'll be a member for life!

Day off work :jbeen making WW soup, BNS with peppers and lentil but it keeps 'growing' it started in a middle size pan, changed it into larger pan and now ive had to split it into 2 pans..if you see a story on the news tonight...woman floated out of house in sea of soup you will know its me!:rotfl:
Got day out with girlfriends tmro so wont be AF, planning on going to pub to watch France Scotland game and then out for an Indian, not very AF or WW friendly day, but hey even angels need a day off!:A
    Have a good weekend everyone

Maman - my MIL is a real piece of work isn't she??:rotfl: I've never met anyone so controlling in my life. Am very grateful that I don't have that much to do with her nowadays. I'm collecting stepson myself after picking Piglet up from school (stepdaughter has plans so is staying home). Sorry to hear about your ankle...make sure you rest it up..get Mr Maman to wait on you. You sound like a very busy lady normally so make sure you do as you are told and sit down!!

Mackeroo - soup sounds nice....and plentiful!:rotfl:I love making my own soups by chucking loads of things in a pot. Comes out different every time:D

    Bear77 - trust me...there was only a little bit to pour away!:o

Am enjoying my day off now the headache has subsided. Drunk lots of water which has helped. And lots of coffee:o Flirting with the idea of going decaffienated.

    Miss P
