Morning to all, grey and miserable here, which matches my mood.

Things not good in my world, but drink at least is not part of it.

Waves to Budgie,Jo,Miss P,Daisychain, Maman,Shaggydoo,Trasojca, ummm,no I cant do a Budgie,I would have to cheat! but waves to everyone and hugs to those that need them.:A:A:A.

Have been wondering a lot about Sim no word from him for a while, that is a worry.

I will look forward to reading how your Marathon goes Miss P,good luck, and with the knitting.

I was a good knitter years ago,Aran jumpers were a speciality of mine, over the years it dropped away and then drink stopped me doing anything.anyway I started again a few years ago and now have a whole room full of wool and numerous things I have started and not finished.:eek:My DD sometimes asks what happened to various things I said I would do for her,I did do some mohair wraps (as in scarfs) a while ago and we both have them in a selection of colours.

Must dash off to the wool room for a mooch.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Sobriety delivers everything Alcohol promised.

    Thanks Lurkio.

    11 FOR ME PLEASE SHAGGY.

For all those who go to fat clubs (because I go to one too), have you noticed that everybody admits to their overindulgences with food for the week but nobody admits to their overindulgences with alcohol.

Strangely enough there are a few (like me) at my club who know the syns in wine off by heart which is probably why it suits me:o. But I do find myself looking at some people and wondering how they could waste syns on chocolate or cake or biscuits!! Everyone I've met there must think I'm something of a wino.

Had a good time last night, MissP (refused the ice-cream although my mates had a voucher). Good luck with the marathon, keep us posted! Do you want sponsorship?:p

    Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum and new to all forums, so please be patient with me..

Please can someone tell me what these challenges are? I have been reading through different posts and I'm getting a little confused by the terms and challenges and other things that are mentioned.

If only there was a membership booklet that could help

You all seem so nice and so I will be here for a while, but give me a little time to get used to it all!

Hi Tabby and welcome to the thread

The challenges on our thread are really easy (trust me;))

Its all about wanting to cut down / give up alcohol (for whatever reason...be it monetary, healthwise etc)

Every month you can state how many alcohol free (AF) days you want to aim for. Then you just report in and let everyone know how you're getting on. OR you can go target free (TF) and just see how you get along. But you don't have to do the challenge at all if you don't want to. Its all about giving and receiving support.:)

Also, the lovely Penelopedee runs weekly challenges to try and keep us on the straight and narrow. So you can sign up to have an alcohol free mon-thu for instance.

Its a great thread - really supportive. Hope that helped!!

Thank you Miss Piggy, that was very helpful.

Can you tell me how to sign up (if and when I want to) for challenges? I am sure this is something that will help me on my quest for freedom :)

Hi Tabby  Welcome to the thread! I hope it helps your quest for freedom.

To join this week's challenge you could post on here like you did before, telling Pen that you'd like to join and which days. She even does 1 night specials if you wanted to go for one just for today or tomorrow. Or wait for the new challenge to come around for next week and post to join that one.

The monthly challenge is run by Shaggy so posting that you'd like to join and how many days or that you'd like to be target free and just keep track of them. There's 20 days left in Jan, and I need another 12 to hit my target of 16 for the month.

Good luck, and if any of it seems confusing please just ask, it's a very friendly and helpful bunch of people on here. :)
