She even does 1 night specials if you wanted to go for one just for today or tomorrow. Or wait for the new challenge to come around for next week and post to join that one.
Does Pen run challenges once a week with different goal posts? If so, when does the challenge start?Wanna_Bee_Free wrote: »The monthly challenge is run by Shaggy so posting that you'd like to join and how many days or that you'd like to be target free and just keep track of them. There's 20 days left in Jan, and I need another 12 to hit my target of 16 for the month.
Generally, does this mean it's okay to keep on trying to be abstinance free with a couple/few hiccups along the way? Is that what the challenges are about? To say - "I will do my best and go from day to day for as long as possible"?

Tabitha, the weekly challenge can be what days you want it to be, between Sunday and Thursday. I hide on Fridays and Saturdays
I can add you now if you want to do 2 days (Weds/Thurs).This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

Thank you Pen.
I'm not quite ready to do a challenge as I have just been told that I am moving home within the next week or two. I was ready to deal with my problems until this happened, but I think I need to get my move out of the way first. I hope that you will forgive me for being slack!
Please understand, I am working my way towards sorting my life out and need all the help I can get. I'm so happy that I now know there are people online here for me to turn to.
Thank you all..

I'm not even going to try to be AF tonight now - I'm knackered, still at work, and have stuff to mark, lessons to plan, and two long forms to fill in tonight. Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?0

Hello everyone:wave:
Can I jump back into the thread after way too long an absence?
Christmas/newyear has been pretty heavy going on the alcohol front, drinking almost every night (even if not a lot) and I now feel soooo tired and old!! SO I need to cut right back, go to bed earlier - you know, all the usual stuff.
I'm taking it one day at a time so today I shall be alcohol free.
I'll go and catch up on the thread now...Trying to keep in budget.

Hi everyone!
I've not been on for about a week, as I've not been able to log on but now my parents are in the modern age and got wireless broadband installed today, so I'm online again!
5 more AFD's for me please Shaggy!
All is good. I'm having a lovely time up North with my family and friends. I should be AF tonight, (but it's too early to tot up tonight on my total) and I want to be AF tomorrow too. Friday won't be AF however, as I'm going out on the town with one of my good friends, so it will no doubt turn into a bit of a mash-up, LOL!
Hugs and nice to catch up with you all, :A

Not saying I could ever give up- because I don't feel like I could. And also I'm not commenting on others situation. This is how it is for me. I'm clearly not addicted to it- because i have got through the last 8 days without- hence being so pleased. I knew I had to change the 'habit'. My friends don't actually know how bad it had become and how much I was drinking- so I tell them I'm changing my habit.
Good post. I don't think I was ever physically addicted to alcohol, but I couldn't stay stopped. Perhaps I was psychologically addicted.
I may have been physically addicted because I had that big feeling of relief after the first drink, that nice fuzzy feeling I used to get if I had a ciggie after not having one for a few hours (after a meal). I don't know actually.....
It's a good debate about dependence vs addiction. I am not sure I know the difference between the 2. Addiction sounds nastier for some reason, but for me (and me alone) I have to recognise that I am alcoholic. The semantics don't matter greatly, all I know is that I cannot drink any amount of alcohol safely. I hope you can change the habit successfully.0 -
Evening All, AF for me tonight please Shaggy. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
