All I can think of to say to those who are struggling is that I'm sure you're doing your best and that any AF days (and/or moderation) are far better than not trying at all. And when you get through the festive season you'll be full of resolve for the shiny new year to come.

Pen's absolutely right that it's a strange time of the year. There are invitations to drink coming thick and fast which (for those of us who need no encouragement) makes things even harder.

Well done to everyone who's managed to be AF tonight:T

6AF for December please Shaggy and
2 for this week's challenge Pen.

    Morning :santa2:

Monday I ended up drinking as I was with friends watching Man U Vs Arsenal. I also ended up havng some wine with my OH last night and tonight I'm out too.....:o So things are not going too good.

TBH I'm dreading tonight. I am going out with old friends. 2 of them I love dearly (which is why I go), one I'm neutral about and one I would truly love to punch her lights out (sorry ) But it's just 3 hours and then hopefully I'll be back on the wagon again.

Anyhoos, I'm off to find out what you have been up to.

    Happy Wednesday

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Morning all

    11 for me please Shaggy
2 for me on the challenge please Pen

Jo - Come on missus, you can do it.

Cuppa Tea - ((hugs)). I would second the recommendation of having a look at "living sober". Its a very handy little book and quite enlightneing.

Shaggy - hope your evening out goes ok. Funnily enough one of my resolutions last year was to not to agree to spend time with people I really don't like :rotfl:

Busy day here today. Dads and Stepsons birthday so am popping down to Mum and Dads later. Piglet has made him a cake :D. This morning before work I have to dash and meet my best mate to do the ritual exchanging pf pressies, then dash to work. Oh, and Piglet has his school christmas party today. Phew!

    Best get on!

    Miss P

  • I`ve just ordered my copy of LIVING SOBER (Amazon are going to do well !!) as after my scare last week where I literally had a major meltdown which was fuelled by alchohol (I got to the point where I just didnt care and was downing drinks left, right and centre which is definately not the way to deal with major stress) I have decided I want to LIVE SOBER and I need suggestions on how not to fall off the wagon. I`m actually really looking forward to a sober Christmas. 6 AF DAYS FOR ME PLEASE SHAGGY.
  • Am on 9 thanks Shaggy. Festive drinking opportunities flying towards me thick and fast; I fear next AFD may not be until Sunday but I will (try to) be moderate. And I will make my target, if I have to abstain on NYE to do it.

Don't beat yourself up Jo, your plate is overflowing at the mo (and i don't mean with slop :)).

Such resolve shoppy, I do admire you. I'm trying to pre-plan so that I have enough days left too (admittedly from a much lower target:o). I'm going out for festive lunch tomorrow but have also accepted an evening invitation (more dancing and squash;)) where I'll have to drive. That way I'll have a glass at most at lunchtime and then stop. Alongside my target I'm doing moderation so I'm happy. Previously I would have had 2/3 large glasses with lunch, fallen asleep in the car on the way home (OH driving:D) and then sobered up enough by 6 to start again in s*d it mode. Times have changed:T
