What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Good morning all

    9 for me please Shaggy!

Can I join the challenge please Pen - 4 nights for me!

This is going to sound ridiculous....but was really chuffed with myself for getting through the X Factor final without a glass of wine in my hand!! Its wierd, but I associate certain things with being able to have a drink. I think once you can break those associations a bit then thats part of the battle won.

Piglet is getting very excited now. Just over a week till his birthday, and then christmas 4 days later. Dads and Stepsons birthday this wednesday, so a busy week or so coming up. Will be glad when Christmas Eve is here and I can breathe a sigh of relief!

Great to hear such resolve to clock up the AF days before Christmas. With all the social events going on it would be so easy to just slip back into drinking every day and use 'It's Christmas' as the reason.

Please put me down for 3 days for the challenge Pen. And thanks for helping us.

This Christmas we are totally skint and watching every penny - something that would normally totally freak me out, especially over Christmas. I would spend to drink, drink to forget, feel guilty about spending and then not really enjoy much of the festive season.

All that before I would start to feel the embaressment of over doing it in front of family, friends, children, colleagues and bosses. Feeling sick, headachy, getting a run down cold and basically feeling rubbish and tired and getting stroppy stressed.

This year, by keeping mainly AF during the week I am calmer. I have spent a lot less on drink. I got organised and sorted out the pressies when the on-line offers were on a few weeks back and because I could see the screen without beer goggles I kept to my budget.

I've enjoyed the build up at work as I feel fresh and clear headed. I've had time to do home baking. I'm finding DS's Christmas excitment fun. We've gone out and about to see friends - something I wouldn't normally do as I would rather just sit and drink instead.

I will struggle over Christmas, I accept that but I'm going to have good fun trying to keep to at least 4 nights a week AF and the other nights within sensible limits.
