But it seem's that if someone (i.e JG) thinks that the thread isn't taking the issue seriously he can't say his piece without everyone jumping down his throat. Nor me apparently. I was saying what I thought then get accused of singling people out, making people feel stupid, etc etc. I'm from the tough love brigade if you don't like it stick me on ignore, or challenge me ( I like a debate) but please god don't play the victim.
Maybe it is time to have a cutting down AND a giving up thread.penelopedee wrote: »I'm finding this all too stressful on here tonight, its making me feel low and I don't want anything to discourage my AF evening.
I was going to post tonight after a lengthy absence. But like Penelope, I don't really like the confrontational posts.
365~not everyone likes a debate. I personally don't think it is relevant in a friendly and supportive thread like this.Need to start again0 -
That's 1 day for the challenge Pen and
10 AF days for September, please Shaggy.0 -
Picking an easy one to quote as the rest got a bit complicated for the middle of the night.yellowmonkey wrote: »I had a yoghurt for tea and found out it was 4 days out of date _pale_
YM, just wanted to reassure you that imho yoghourt is fine ages after the date, it's kind of premouldy and I'm someone who struggles to ignore use by dates in general. You'll be fine.
Logged on here as awake in the middle of the night, too much wine.
Away for a few days so missed everything except last 3 pages.
Sorry to see people leaving the thread, even when I'm out of touch here it's the only place I have to mull over stuff about drinking and as an extrovert I can only really think if I talk to someone (typing is a close second) There are times when trying to keep up on here is too much, especially since I had to go to hospital with a bad arm and realised using a pen or a mouse are bad for me.
I dislike conflict and spend time trying to run away and dig my head into the sand but have found some of the tough love posts on here very thought provoking. Although obviously I ain't making the changes day to day I should, but my being honest on here about the slippery slope I'm on is something I value.

Morning All
It's so difficult to get out of bed as it's so dark. I'm on 26 AFDs.
ShaggyWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
365, I do admire your passion and commitment, and the fact that you are speaking your mind. I certainly wouldn't want you to feel demonised or gagged - you need to say it as you see it. I, Like you, I have changed identities here ( twice, I used to be Pariskate and then Biscotte) and I have watched over the past 2-3? years as we have all stumbled along this path to a lower alcohol future, some falling off and getting back on, others moderating, others giving up ( notably for me MP and her whip!). I've seen a fair few flounces and debates, interestingly enough our resident wise man GC ruffled a few feathers when he first started posting and we all got over that eventually. I can understand your frustration
I only know that when I have been going through the process of changing my behaviour (earlier with smoking and now with alcohol) that change had to come from inside myself, and for myself. Nothing others said changed me, only I could, not even my kids nagging me about smoking and dieing young (spelling???).
I can only speak of my own feelings and react towards others as I would like to be treated, so I'll have to stay fluffy and soft and hope that we all find the internal strength and will and way to change ourselves.Trying to keep in budget.
