Evening all, Af here again, just played and hour of netball so I shall feel very stiff in the morning - great fun though.

I don't know how to multi quote but I have to say that there have been some really interesting posts here and I really agree with fay in that people can only change if they change themselves. And we can only offer support in which ever way we feel we can.

I'm all touchy feely and very fuzzy because that's the way I am, others are more tough love and get on with it. I might be seen as weak and ineffectual by a tough lover, I might think they're preachy adn judgemental (not saying that I do but for example) Either way of being is legitimate and might work depending on the person you are talking.

if people are in denial, then only they can have their 'lightbulb' moment, whether it be for drinking, smoking, spending too much money etc etc. I think there are many posters here who know exactly how dangerous their drinking is(or could be, and I include myself in this category) but some are, or feel, powerless in the face of it.

What isn't generally a good idea, I think, is to alienate people so they feel they don't have a safe place to post/brain dump/confess etc. and I am afraid that this has happened several times on this thread over the years with quite a few people leaving because of it - and I wonder what happened to them?

I'm sorry that Miss P and Dundee doll feel they need to leave - the thread will be poorer without your input and I hope you reconsider.

Lurky, I think buying history disappears after a certain amount of time.
As talking dinner seems to be the thing tonight - mine was rubbish, rubbery burger and salad (homemade but over cooked )
    Trying to keep in budget.

If it's really old I don't think you can. I wanted to find an old purchase the other day and couldn't find a way :-( although I do work in IT so don't trust a word I say ;)
