I have to say, I'm really disappointed at the tone of posts the last couple of days. A thread that I found hugely supportive has suddenly become judgmental and critical. I DO appreciate how hard it is to give up and I have every admiration for people that have done so. However, I do not feel that gives them the right to lecture others, single people out, or generally make people feel bad or stupid. How dare anyone ASSUME what a person will do. Yes, we were planning on meeting in a pub....a social place...and several of us had already discussed it and had planned an AF evening. Not that thats ANYONES business but ours.
I don't believe anyone on this thread is flippant when it comes to our personal battles with alcohol. Some of us want to give up, some want to cut down. Each to thier own. All we can do is provide support. Its a hard struggle for some.
I personally feel very angry right now that the supportive nature of this thread seems to have taken a very large nosedive. I do apologise if I upset anyone. I normally don't get involved but felt angry enough to this time.
