Where are you all?
So.......it's day 1 of the challenge...huh....DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Oh dear, the thread has come to a grinding halt. I suspect it has something to do with yesterday's exchanges.
Am I alone in wanting things to be simple and straightfoward. I respect all points of view and try not to be judgemental. If chit chat helps you cope then fine if not do as I do and gloss over it, There are serious folks here who gain support to help them cut down/stop reliance on alcohol. Just read a few of the success stories.
If you had said to me I would be af for 15 days in September I would have laughed yet I've done it! I am really glad I found this thread and if I don't feel comfortable with it in the future I will simply not log on.
Rant over.
Jo thanks for the jokes.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Hello board! :hello: And how are we doing today? Hope you all survived the weekend.
I'm doing well on AF-ness at the moment. 5 days in a row which is unheard of for me this year! But I'm not going to get too carried away about, I've been here many times before and always ended up lapsing. So the task now is to work out how I'm going to make this time count. Hmmm could take a bit of pondering....
Pen please could I join the 4 day challenge?
Off to catch up with the thread, lots to read!0 -

Lovley post - I've been working etc sorry didn't get on here today. Well done on 15 days AF
Without this thread - I'd still be glugging 1+ bottles of wine a night on my own (how many units ), not sleeping in my own bed, probably slumped infront of the tv on the sofa, getting up and dealing with life in a very haphazard manner but probably still managing to get muddling along, more skint, - but not as happy/healthier/more sorted than I am now that I found you lovely lot. I like the serious and non-serious tones of the thread - and like other folk on here I've no one to talk to about it all without you lot I'd be lost - pure and simpleviva la thread
(I'll go now)
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

:T on your 15 days (and counting!) rn. I do agree with you about being able to access the thread (or not) in any way that suits. Perhaps discussing menus is not to everyone's taste but surely a bit of conversation is normal and no one is forced to join in.
I'm up for Day 1 of the challenge, never hear bells on Mondays so that's an easy start for me. Good luck to everyone else joining in.0 -
Hi all,
I haven't been AF on Saturday or yesterday, so no more AFDs just yet, although I am back on the waggon today and for the rest of the week.
My weekend was GREATand that's all I shall say....except
2nd viewing on the house on Saturday was a complete joke and I don't know why they came back as they just wasted our time. They slagged off most of the house and put in a ridiculously low offer. They said they would have to rip out the kitchen and all the flooring as it looked as if it had been done by cowboys.......... ooooh I am so MAD with them!!! I hope their buyer pulls out, because they were so horrid. Grrrr. So that's probably "it" until after Xmas now, unless some miracle purchaser shows up. Ah well.
Hope you are all feeling good today. I could be better, but then I do have to go to work in an hour........boooo hissssss!
Hugs

Day for anniversaries. Exactly 10 years ago met my DD's dad, exactly 3 years ago he got the first letter from solicitors after I had left him. And today I resigned from my job.
I shall raise glass of ginger and lemon grass cordial with sparkling water. (And then start churning out all the letters I meant to do yesterday.)
So day 26 please Shaggy and day 1 please Pen"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Good for you Cazza, so pleased you had a great weekend.
365, I have to ask wether you meant people were flippant in their attitude to alcohol, or just in general? I've seen a lot of chit chat and idle natter here about all sorts of subject (and had a few laughs along the way). but I noticd that when people talk about alcohol, their use of it and their feelings about it, then people are very serious. No-one jokes about going out on the lash, or what we did that was so funny when we were pished or indeed says to any other poster, ahhh go on, one won't hurt you. We do constantly say, pick yourself up and start over, can you find a distraction, come and hold my hand and we'll do it together.
Personally I think that we are all adults and we all are responsible for the choices we make, but those choices can be really really difficult. I can't tell someone what to do ( eg don't drink on the curry night) but I surely wouldn't encourage anyone to drink and would respect anyones choices.
Phew, sorry that's a long one. Didn't we all have this debate at the last night out?Trying to keep in budget.
