WB - very sad news. It is so hard when it's quite sudden like that. It doesn't give you time to come to terms with it properly.

    24 consecutive days sober :D

    That's brilliant going. Well done!

AF last night for me Shaggy.
  • Just popping in to update my scores and to reassure Miss P that she has not killed the thread.

WB I've always had a dog and it is always so sad when they pass on. Our present dog is a black labrador !!!!!. we've had her since she was 8 weeks old. She's getting on for 10 now so hopefully she has a few years yet. She is very healthy and energetic so fingers crossed.

Pen 3 for the challenge please.

    Shaggy 10 for november please.

    Good night and sweet dreams.

Was briefly tempted by a bottle of wine in the local shop before picking Piglet up from school...

    :T Well done you

and then figured that with the money I'd spend on that I could get the makings of spag bol and garlic bread:eek: (is that a healthy extra??) and really treat Piglet and OH tonight. So thats what I've done. :)

    xx

Had another AF day, again no bells and long may it continue (for us all).

    3AF please Shaggy.

How do you guard against complacency?
I find I have to commit to things which at the time I don't want to do, but I actually enjoy in the end. Bit of battle though sometimes....

I think complacency is the biggest killer of non-drinking alcoholics. When we put down the drink our lives improve dramatically, then it is so easy to get complacent and comfortable again, and before we know it, we are drinking.

I agree, you forget the reasons you stopped and the nature of the disease is to hide the fact that 1 is never enough.

Morning all  can't stop, just got out of the bath and need to leave for work in half hour

    Chow for now

  • Morning all!

Maman - Oh yes...ahem....slimming word...errrm.... Well, I did well the first week but fell off the dieting wagon the following week. I think, to be honest, I'm sick and tired of dieting (seem to have been doing it my sodding life). So am going for healthy eating instead...maybe I'll be happy that way. (I did only have two little bits of garlic bread ;)). How did you do on slimming world?

Weather is disgusting here. Wet and windy. At least the kids get to go straight into school on days like this rather than hang around in the playground. Still get soaked though as the path up to the school is really long :(

    Anyways, best get on!

    Catch you all later!

    Miss P

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

haven't said before but had to have my dog put to sleep. It was actually a month ago but far from getting easier it's getting harder & harder to bear! He was nearly 14 & I'd had him from 7 weeks old; he went downhill all of a sudden, one week earlier I hadn't even been contemplating it. I've spent a whole month now crying or on the verge of tears every waking minute & am being a complete DRIP!!
