4 weeks ago I had been DAILY drinking 6 cans of stella, 1 or 2 cans of guinness and unmeasured swigs from a bottle of vodka, in secret and all between 6pm - 10pm, never less than that, couldn't survive on less than that. The frightening thing is that there are 4 other people in this house and not one person commented on my behaviour, my OH never noticed that I'd been drinking, that is shocking. /QUOTE]

This could be me to... Monday night OH said he was really surprised that I hadn't got a bottle of wine (I had a bad day) I didn't correct him and say yes dear I have already drunk it, you were just elsewhere at the time :o

On the other hand they are well aware of my inability to control my drinking when they see it iykwim, its just that sometimes I manage to hide it better than others :o

Anyhooo since Monday I have been sober and today well I hope this will be a sober one too.

Me too. I've often conned myself into thinking I've hidden my drinking really well from my DDs but deep down I know they're not stupid and they must be aware of some (not all) of it. I was so ashamed of myself when DD2 found an empty bottle of vodka in the laptop bag a couple of weeks ago. I feigned shock and wondered how it had got there - not my finest acting moment :o

Good luck with the AFness Mari. Are you feeling any better after 3 days? I've been AF too since Monday and am alternating between bursts of energy and mega tiredness.
  • Not drinking tonight so I'm safe to declare 6 AF now please Shaggy

Miamoo I hope you're feeling a bit better after last night. Maybe all those pent up emotions just had to get out. All the best with the not drinking.

    Hi kids

Just wanted to say that I'm not completely AWOL. My head is a bit all over the place, as in my notion of ever being AF :o

However I can report regular gym attendance & excellent teeth-brushing & removing make-up before bed. So I guess some things are going ok.

    Muchos love to you all

    xx

Maman - Oh yes...ahem....slimming word...errrm.... Well, I did well the first week but fell off the dieting wagon the following week. I think, to be honest, I'm sick and tired of dieting (seem to have been doing it my sodding life). So am going for healthy eating instead...maybe I'll be happy that way. (I did only have two little bits of garlic bread ;)). How did you do on slimming world?
    xx

I'm sticking with it MissP, and to be honest I find it is a healthy eating programme rather than a diet in that there's plenty to eat. BUT...been sabotaged by a couple of weeks away..but tomorrow I'll be back with the plan. I must say that I couldn't have done SW without cutting down the alcohol first.

That being said, today is a bit of a s*d it day. I went out for lunch and had some wine and later I'm planning a bit more:o.

Kinda just what HB said - not around much really - but thinking of you all - head in a funny place - but generally can report AF'ness - just finding life a bit all over the place at the moment.

I hope you're all good - if not have a hug - 99% AF in my life at the mo - the odd blip which thus far not been too horrible or often.

I had the most awfull night last night, me and OH had a MASSIVE row, I hate argueing. Infact I usually let him rant and rant, I say nothing and then get drunk.
Last night I went crazy, I was shouting, swearing and crying. I totally lost the plot.
Believe it or not we were argueing over Taco's. He refused to eat the ones I was was cooking because I didnt cook the onion before the mince, it was a ridiculous row. But I cant believe how I reacted.
I think it was lots of bottled up emotions.
I didnt have a drink last night, strangely I didnt even want one!
I have decided that I want to stop drinking alcohol starting from today, I'm going to take things one day at a time.

Good luck. What are you going to different this time?

When I do the same things, then things stay the same.
Especially with alcohol. Things only got worse, not better, until I put some positive, affirmative action in.
