What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Morning all,

Feeling fairly carp today but better than I did yesterday morning, nomally I would've had a skinful last night if I was drinking, ill or not and I can't imagine feeling this rough with a hangover as well!

    Hope we're all well?

I have a bone to pick with Lurks. Why why oh why did you post the link to the discussion time forum! I've been sucked into it's lethal grasp and will never be set free. (Actually it's right up my street so thanks!)

Its not for the faint hearted and there are some really quite nasty pieces of work there :o:o most are ok though

    Good luck

    Hi Miamoo,
I know you have put this to Graeme but I thought I would just tell you how I feel.
I do still think about having a drink occasionally.......mostly now on special occasions like last Friday after seeing my Grandson being born.
However I can now just have a little chat to myself and as you say, ask myself..... why do I want to drink poison......why do I want to give myself a hangover.......why do I want to NOT remember anything about this wonderful life that I have now.
Don't get me wrong.....my life is not a bed of roses....but I know I can handle things so much better now that I am sober.

Giving up completely can seem like a very daunting thing to do....but it is possible and each day does get easier......I promise:)

Good luck to You and everyone else on their journeys.

    Take care of YOU
    Love Mollypollyxxxx

So true - both from you, MP and Graeme. And you, RA!

I have moments...just every so often when I can FEEL the sensation and remember the highs.

And then, seconds later I remember the lows...and keep remembering...and counting...and the sums really don't add up.

The hardest thing I had to do in this was face up to myself. The actually act of not doing something wasn't that bad.

Being absolutely, full-on, honest with myself was tough but essential. I'd played at stopping for long enough. I thinky I stopped in time.

Disaster was just around the corner.

    take care all.

    be good to yourselves.

    Bis

  • Not AF last night but I drank moderately which is all I want to do occassionaly and really enjoyed myself. Its the destructive full on getting legless that I want to cut out of my life. Also not drinking every day which with the help of this thread I am managing to have some AF days so thank you all for all your interesting posts and support.

  • Ragdoll. If you're out there, please come back.

Please don't let a silly misunderstanding put you off this thread, you were making good progress and seemed to benefit from joining in.

Whatever was said was not of your making and there is no reason for you to stay away. So please, if you found it helpful to be here give [STRIKE]us[/STRIKE] me another chance.
