    Morning all,

Sorry, haven't got much time to post now, just been catching up with everyone.

Miamoo, happy happy birthday :D xx

HB, big big hugs for you sweetie xx

365, bloomin' well done lovey xx

A completed challenge thank you Pen and 4 for me please Shaggy.

I've come down with a sudden head cold yesterday and feel like utter carp, came from nowhere and no idea where I got it from. First time I've been ill in years, I wonder if part of the detoxing is my resistence to stuff dropping?

Anyway, will venture off to work and see how it goes, might leave early.

I will be doing a Fri - Sun, 3 day weekend AF challenge if anyone is interested. I am very busy this weekend so won't be able to post much, but I'll still be doing it. Let me know if you'd like to join for either 1, 2 or 3 days. :)

    Have a lovely day :)

    xx

I've had 2 glasses of wine tonight, so there is half a bottle left and a bottle of orange bacardi breezer. I'm not having anymore (its my bday 2moro so it would be a good excuse) I seemed to be in the swing of not drinking, it didnt even bother me but 2 or 3 nights drinking in a row(not even excessively), and its back to square one.

I dont understand why I get back into the 'habit' so quickly

I would promise myself (and mean it) that I wouldn't drink again after the most recent screw up, however a few days later then I would be drinking!
    Thus groundhog day.

Many people are in the habit of having a drink or two most nights, but they can stop if they want to. People who cannot stop the 'habit' could be addicts.

If I substitute the word alcohol for drugs, then I would have to classify myself as a drug addict (not that I would like it, but it is the reality of my situation)
  • Morning All, 2 AF DAYS FOR ME PLEASE SHAGGY AND JO XXXXX
  • I've failed big time this week so I think it might be back to tiny steps again. I'm going for the one hour at a time approach today.

Hugs to those in need of them.

    Morning all,

Pen Last day completed so 4:)'s please.

Shaggy 5 for the November challenge please.

Am off to spend a pleasurable (not) 3 or 4 hours at the local hospital for foot x-ray, see podiatrist then the longest wait of all, the pharmacy.

Speak to you later if I still have the energy.

Thanks Graeme, If I'm honest I know that I do have a drink problem because it shouldnt be this hard to have a few nights drink free.
Once I've done the 3rd day its so much easier and after 2 weeks I dont even think about it anymore. So why do I even bother having a drink again.
I keep thinking dont drink alcohol, your just poisening yourself. Why do I want to drink poisen!! but I still do it.
Can I ask you Graeme do you still struggle some days, or is it easier as time goes by?

    Hi Miamoo,
I know you have put this to Graeme but I thought I would just tell you how I feel.
I do still think about having a drink occasionally.......mostly now on special occasions like last Friday after seeing my Grandson being born.
However I can now just have a little chat to myself and as you say, ask myself..... why do I want to drink poison......why do I want to give myself a hangover.......why do I want to NOT remember anything about this wonderful life that I have now.
Don't get me wrong.....my life is not a bed of roses....but I know I can handle things so much better now that I am sober.

Giving up completely can seem like a very daunting thing to do....but it is possible and each day does get easier......I promise:)

Good luck to You and everyone else on their journeys.

    Take care of YOU
    Love Mollypollyxxxx

  • Tonight on the 20 minute drive there was thinking.....glass of wine...mmmm....maybe a pint...yes a nice cold pint.....maybe a double vodka in my coke......No definately a pint...will last longer.

Despite five years sobriety I still get these "attacks".
    :(
Guess that is why I am still recovering.
