  • Why do you want to port the Orange number (which you don't know yet) to your Virgin Contract(which presumably all your friends/family know)?
Just get the phone unlocked and put your Virgin sim in the San Francisco.
Or have you a hidden agenda?

  • So If I got one of these on Orange PAYG, I could get it unlocked to use on Virgin Pay Monthly???

LOL - I see what you mean, doh!

Virgin's handsets are very limited and expensive - this way I can get an Android handset and a cheap PAYG deal!
  • Ain't got one myself but Giffgaff deal seem good
150 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile Internet for £10

Does unlocking a handset bought from Orange and then used with a different SIM card void the guarantee?

Great review of the phone just put up.

Referals and pyramid schemes are very different btw, fairly sure O2 don't rely on getting new customers to pay for the service of existing customers :D

Ironically since 3 came on the UK scene many moons ago now getting new customers IS the way to make revenue, incoming call termination rates make money thanks to generous priceplans in the UK market making losses on outgoing termination rates & the subsidised costs of data plans and savvy consmuers not going over their plan alowances. Mobile companies used to make great money, now its less and the reduction by Ofcom in termination rates over the next few years will see the profits shrink to nothing, good handsets on great deals are going to go, the array of sim only & o2 & T-Mobiles unlimited UK "mobile" calling plans deals is the start of it, along with the standard 24 month contracts.

New customers infact are subsidising existing customers retention deals as networks scramble to hold on to current customers to stop the termination rates they pay out & concentrate on incoming termination.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

No, as long as the unlocking doesn't damage the handset.

Is that rubbing it with a sugar cube?

i've read that works but must say I'm not convinced:)

Depends on how it's been put on the case....it worked on my MDA Vario III - took all the T-Mobile crap off nicely.
