Read a review that stated that the CPU wasn't a Snapdragon and is slower than the 526MHz that's in the Wildfire. Which isn't necessary a bad thing, it would depend on what app you were planing to run (or how many?).
But it does look like a very nice handset (and only 99 quid on payg)...0 -

Pardon !
You mean they give you 30 quid off the phone AND 30 quid credit ? Are you sure ?
Apparently, see post 65:

My Desire was due to be delivered on Monday, so i was going to have a serious look at this over the weekend but have just tracked it and its now showing will be delivered tom so no chance to look at this in meantime! Ohh what to do!
If there was definite unlock for this would make a fair difference.0 -

The guys over here seem to think its fast, but not sure exactly what they are referring to, bit techie for me!!! You may be able to fathom it:

This seems like a bargain. I have no use for itself (loving the HTC Desire) but I'll be keeping a look on it.
Especially if that port in offer turns out to be true!!0 -
Nicked from Goodfella123 on HUKD:
The t&c's of the free £30 credit for taking your number to orange are here: http://www1.orange.co.uk/mobileterms/payg-30pound-port-in-promotion.html
Thing is, you can only get £10 per month, so it would take three months to get £30 and the promotion only lasts from 1st July until 1st october (3 months).
I'm not sure if that means you could actually only get £10 free credit as there's less than one month left, or whether it means you have to register the offer before 1st october.
Probably only £10 of credit available.
Happy to stand corrected as i would love £30 credit for free.0 -
This phone is scorching hot and now available online with quidco:

Also this taken from MoDaCo:
Orange is offering NHS Staff discounts on handsets and tariffs in High Street Orange stores.
Pay Monthly (Contract)
£50 off the retail price of the handset.
First 2 months line rental absolutely FREE
10% off the line rental after the first 2 months.
Pay As You Go
£20 off the retail price of the handset.
£20 off the store's 'offer of the day', e.g. text saver.
This discount is open to any employee of the NHS regardless of whether they have a Trust mobile or not. All you need to do is drop into an Orange retail store with some NHS I.D to prove who you work for. You can then take up the discount. You can also use the discount to purchase mobiles for partners or children, as long as the phones are bought in your own name.
If on the very rare chance that the Orange retail store staff appear confused when you ask them for your discount, please advise they speak to their 'Area Manager' who will confirm with the store staff that the discount is valid. Any queries please contact Orange Retail.

Been playing with phone most of last night.
Replaced my lost Hero.
I was on orange contract so just put my contract sim in.
Got it for £80 + £10 credit as I am an NHS employee
For the money it's a frighteningly good bit of kit, screen is up there with the nexus and desires of this world, FOR EIGHTY QUID!!!
Speed wise it's quicker than my hero, but obviously not as quick as snapdragon phones.
They only had 2 in stock at my local orange, and had obviously not sold any (non of them had seen it), imagine that they are going to sell fast.0
