You could change the firmware to remove the Orange software; therefore stopping it from attempting to install. But perhaps it's best to leave well alone. :)

Yes, though she has some magnifier and also Microsoft narrator running at start up... They could be slowing it down? She sometimes finds it hard to read screen ( so why she got a mini note book I have no idea...!) I will increase font size and show her how to use ctrl and + or - to zoom in and out while surfing... I think that would help more! She doesn't even understand how to use magnifier anyway!! So I shall leave it so she can start it if she wants instead. Was there anything else I Could do to help make it load up faster? When you click a link it takes ages to load or even register the click... Is that just the processor do you think? It happens both navigating around the pc clicking on my documents etc but is worse on web... Wonder If she would use chrome or ff
    Any suggestions

    And HUGE thanks again
Excuse any spelling errors I blame wine snd iPhone!!

Go back to CCleaner and use it to disable all startup items apart from this one:

    Yes HKLM:Run Windows Defender %ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe -hide

    Yes HKCU:Run ProductReg "C:\Program Files\Acer\WR_PopUp\ProductReg.exe"
    Yes HKLM:Run Windows Defender %ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe -hide
    Yes HKLM:Run PersistenceThread C:\Windows\system32\PersistenceThread.exe
    Yes HKLM:Run RtHDVCpl C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\RtHDVCpl.exe
    Yes HKLM:Run LManager C:\Program Files\Launch Manager\LManager.exe
    Yes HKLM:Run Google Desktop Search "C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktop.exe" /startup
    Yes HKLM:Run Adobe Reader Speed Launcher "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe"
    Yes HKLM:Run IgfxTray C:\Windows\system32\igfxtray.exe
    Yes HKLM:Run HotKeysCmds C:\Windows\system32\hkcmd.exe
    Yes HKLM:Run IgfxExt C:\Windows\system32\IgfxExt.exe /RegServer
    Yes HKLM:Run SynTPEnh C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe
    Yes HKLM:Run PLFSetI C:\Windows\PLFSetI.exe
    Yes HKLM:Run RemoteControl8 "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD8\PDVD8Serv.exe"
    Yes HKLM:Run PDVD8LanguageShortcut "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD8\Language\Language.exe"
    Yes HKLM:Run Skytel C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\Skytel.exe
    Yes Startup Common Acer VCM.lnk C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer VCM\AcerVCM.exe
    Yes Startup Common Launcher.lnk C:\Program Files\InternetEverywhere\Launcher.exe
    Yes Startup User OneNote 2007 Screen Clipper and Launcher.lnk C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ONENOTEM.EXE

They can be re-enabled if she finds that she prefers the programs to start with Windows.

No need to install extra software with vista, goto Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center , then click setup a new connection setup a dial up connection, input the number as *99# , username and password blank and the connection name as consumerbroadband. Its orange not anyones pcs which has affected win 7 and vista.
