What did Orange technical support suggest after they went through all the settings?? If its not the dongle/software/settings that only leaves a problem with the laptop..... if you have uninstalled and reinstalled and been through all the settings I cant see how it can be that unless there is a problem with the dongle itself.... did it work when you plugged it into your PC??0

tried installing mobile partner. word trys to open it? and then says corrupt or unreadable - so i tried getting the file again from the internet....same problem?
When you write, "tried to install", did you get past actually extracting the folder from the .zip file?
Save the downloaded .zip file to the Desktop. Right click on it and choose Extract here.
If there is no application for .zip files on the machine, download and install 7-ZIP or WinRAR. After which you will get the option to open .zip files with one or the other.
The added complication is the failure to install Vista SP2, which I regard as more critical; but a least we can check to see if the Mobile Partner workaround is suitable.
To check if there is a problem with the Dongle, go to the Device Manager whilst it is plugged in and check it's status from there.0 -

When you extract the from the .zip file, you should see two folders:
__MACOSX
&
Mobile_Partner_UTPS11.302.09.00.03
Open the second and inside there is another folder named Mobile Partner. Run the setup file that is in there.0 -

Use Internet Explorer and save it to your Desktop. How can it open with word if yo are choosing to open it with the compression program that you have installed? You have installed one, haven't you?0

i have installed winrar. As thats what i always use on my computers.
as i said earlier it gives a fault when unzipping, uncompressing, extracting or whatever you wish to call it. and yes - i used IE to save it as she for some reason will not try chrome or firefox.
then when clicking ok it decided to open word? and says parts missing or words to that effect. will try again. and again. and again.:p:heart2::heartpuls:heart2: I WOULD NOT CHANGE MY AUTISTIC DAUGHTER FOR THE WORLD

Why are you clicking 'ok'? There is no option to do so. You right click on the file and choose 'Extract here'. There is no OK involved.0
