    Vista needs to be updated. But we can look at that afterwards.

    the hotfix did not work, and i cannot get into settings on orange internet everywhere to gather any info as it says internet everywhere has stopped working and then it checks for soloutions and says will notify if one becomes available.

    this netbook is sooooo slow! i have a pc with vista basic, a laptop with visa home premium (plus a laptop with win 7) but this is slower than my vista basic pc which has 1gb ram whereas this notebook supossedly has 2gb, i think i give up! she can have it back unfixed!!

    I installed the dongle on my laptop to get settings and I don't get a signal here but it would working I did. There was no dial number?? Just a apn which was consumerbroadband. Use automatic dns was ticked and the user/pass was not ticked.
    Is that all i need then or is not being able to find s disk number s problem?? Sorry am typing on iPhone! Bit difficult!!

    Where does it say that it has 2GB RAM installed? Have you checked?

    Yes. I thought that you already had begun. :)

    The processor is weak.

    Perhaps run a malware scan before you proceed.

    Download, install, update and run a Quick Scan with Malwarebytes' AntiMalware. When complete, choose 'Remove Selected' if there is anything to remove and Reboot your computer.

    After restart, open the program again and go to 'Logs'. Double click on the log produced for today and post the contents here.

    Next, download, install and run the HijackThis Version 2.0.3 installer and use the Quick Start guide to enable you to produce a log for posting here too.

    ( certain things I csn deal with- minor things... Windows blue screens or driver issues but this is a new one for me... Plus I've only had regular broadband and years ago dial up. No dongles here!
