not too sure, i have everything i need.

i guess soppy as it sounds the perfect pressie would be just to see the kids and hubby having a fantastic time. that would make me happy.and make for the best day.

but saying that hubby every year always buys me a gorgeous set of underwear and i love reciveing that.

theres not much id like all i want is the 4th twilight book, hurts cd and some bubble bath,

but OH "needs" to buy me something expensive even though i dont want anything.
how can i convince him its ok not to have a huge pile of gifts ?

How about getting something together? Maybe a holiday for you both (my OH and I are going away for new years this year, so we're buying this together rather than getting presents for each other).

We'll probably still do stockings for each other though - we're at that stage where we have most things we want (or certainly need!), so it's more fun to try and find lots of little thoughtful things......

What are you getting for him? Have you discussed this? Set price limits for each other?
I know this seems kind of petty to set out in these terms, but this isn't really something to hint about, or you'll just end up disappointed, particularly if there's something / somewhere else you think the money would be better spent (new car, holiday, round the house, paying off debts etc).

Of course if none of the above applies, and he has money to spare and lavish on you, I'd always suggest something sparkly ;) That's my default present suggestion for my OH! :D

  • It was my Birthday last week though......and I got nothing! :( but My Husband got to go and watch Man U with a friend

Happy birthday for last week Zippy :)

Wow, your husband needs a good slapping from the sounds of things. Is this the first birthday he's forgotten or does he have previous in this area?

Poor you, hope your familly / friends remembered at least?

My Christmas list this year for the oh (who last year struggled apparently so has asked for a guidance list)
    - stripey socks
    - a hot water bottle
    - lush comforter bubble bars ( these are my fave and he stole the last one the other day and then complained about the bubbles :|)

So far thats it - also my birthday before Christmas so I really need to have a think I guess (Ive done him for Xmas within our budget already I love mse :D )
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?

going away would be great but we both have work commitments that dont allow holidays to be taken over xmas/new year.
He is easy to buy for theres aways some tool he "needs" and some god awful sci fi dvd !

I would just like him to realise that i really dont want or need anything else.

Then ask for items that you normally use and have to replace for yourself - ie a face cream, shower gel, bubbley baths, cosmetics, clothing, gloves, expensive hair stuff, razors - okay not the most romantic of gifts but at least its practical and youll use it (unlike me and my pet giraffe I got last christmas :|)
    or
items you consider a luxury? like a more expensive face cream or some lush products? yankee candles?

  • Slightly O/T but this is what we do...

Every adult writes a list of things that they want
Each adult draws a ticket from a hat to see who to buy for
Each adult is then bought a selection of gifts from their lists to value of £50.

This was started by my inlaws but we now pretty much do this on both sides of the family.

it means instead of the usual £10-20 gifts of Pajamas, socks and toiletries that are nice but not neccasary, every adult gets a gift that they want. And all the adults are shopped for with just £50.
  • I'd love to receive Lush bubble bars and some nice undies from my DH. Haven't a clue what to buy him though - he never gives me any ideas and I run out of my own after all the relatives pick my brains for what to buy him

That's why I never give my relatives ideas for my OH until I'm done with my presents :rotfl:

Don't really know what I want for christmas, I have a real hatred of asking for things cos I don't want to seem greedy and only made a list last year for my OH cos he got all angry with me and couldn't think of anything himself!
