Hello everyone.
Happy Birthday Math:bdaycake:
Thanks for showing us your photos VickyA - you look so radiant.
Well, OH is at work, DD is at school and DS is sat playing with his cars next to me. Going to take it easy todaya fter a very hectic weekend. WM already done one load and need to put it out. Sky is blue and the sun is shining but I am not going to risk putting it out on the line as it rained all day yesterday. I will play safe and put it out on airers. BM needs to go on as DD has been asking for macaroni cheese so that's for dinner today. Need to have a good tidy up around the whole house - usual task for Mondays after all the mess the family create and leave.
Taking kids swimming after lunch and then we can curl up a while on the sofa (them with milk , me with coffee and my recipe folders-have guests for day on Sunday and need to find a dessert).
Have a good day everyone.0 -

Morning All,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATH!!!!
PP-Hope you start to perk up soon hun. How's the car?!?
ANCASTA-I recently had an ear infection, first one ever and it was a really painfull f****r. Hope yours clears up soon.
Rubbish nights sleep here, our bedroom window doesnt shut porperly so the wind made a heck of a noise . Am planning on making some butternut squash soup today in the SC, forgot I had one, was only reading on here that reminded me. I've been using the gas hob!!
We had a builder in a couple of weeks ago to remove a toilet/basin/wall etc from the laft conversion and it seems he has broken my water shut off tap thingy (arent I the technical one). I went to get the highchair out yesterday and saw lots of black mould on the wall where the tap is. On closer inspection it seem the tap has been leaking into the wall, the plaster has blown, the paint is full of pouches of water and the mould is FOUL! I will be calling him in a mo for a revisit!
Must also ring around some car insurance peeps today as I know nothing about what affects your car insurance and would like to know BEFORE buying the car!!! We are off to some 2nd hand dealers next w/e for a look at prices.
Righto, off to make soup with DD2.
Love to all,

Morning All!
A few of us getting BP checked today I see! Just got back from Drs. New chap there, so will see how we go.
PennyPincher - sorry to hear that you are having a rough day today. Hope it improves for you. Have a hug.
Have had a lovely OS weekend and feel serene today (BP was down as well!!) Work is really getting in the way now. I only do 3 days a week - and that's Tues/Wed/Thurs, so can't really complain, but I am. I hate it. The work is OK, but the folks are a pain. Management is non-existent and everyone interferes with everyone elses job! It's anarchy!! So, I need your help!! I need a job that will allow me to be around home to be OS. I wouldn't mind doing some hours, but because I work al long way from home, the three days are actually full ones - I am so tired when I get home, I don't do anything at all. I am an HR Manager, but PT AND good money is very hard to come by so I am reluctant to give it up on the one hand, but it is becoming more trouble than it is worth. I see some of you do Ebay stuff, or other work from home jobs - obviously it works for you, but do you have any tips?
Sorry, being a misery here so..........
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday MATH! :bdaycake:
Am off to bake a cake and eat it on your behalf (aren't I GOOD!)
Have a lovely day everyone and hugs to all that need them.

Morning All!!
Haven't had time to catch up on threads since Thursday so hope all are well and happy.
Dad is still seriously ill but off life support and out of intensive care. The docs keep stressing we shouldn't get our hopes up as he still has the infections but it's hard not too when he is talking and even joking, so I'm going to feel posiitve anyway.
OS has gone completely out of the window this weekend, house isn't too bad but not the way I like it, we have no food in our cupboards and I have at least 2 loads of washing that need doing so back to OS today, plus all this driving has cost me a fortune in petrol and I'm skint!! Mind you filled up at St Albans as it was 4p cheaper than it is here so felt slightly better. Roll on payday.
So to do today:
Do weekly shop
WM is on timer and will be finishing when I get home, hang out that, put next load on.
Make loaf in BM.
Strip our bed, should have been done yesterday.
Hoover upstairs
Sweep floors downstairs and go through "that" corner under the stairs which has become a dumping ground for schoolbags, violins etc.
Go to bed early as I'm exhausted and my glands are up.
PP - wishing you better.
Math - Happy Birthday!!!!
Take care all.

Pudding: Birthday cake of course LOL
Hope y'all have a good day and hope the sun keeps shining.

Hi all
Can I joiun your thread.
I have been lurking for ages, since I found MSE when DS was born - he is now 2.5.
Prior to having kids I was a boring accountant - worked all the time or was away a lot. Since having LO's I realised how little I ever did around the house etc. I have done cookery evening courses and can cook things like PORK ENCROUTE, which would then cost a fortune and take all day, but can not seem to cook normal everyday food - I used to ring OH from work and he would have my dinner on the table when I got home.
Anyway from next Monday I am working part time so will be at home with the LO's 3 days a week, :T :T so will try and utlise all the tips have have seen.
Today I am home alone - well with the builder who is putting in a downstairs loo.
Unfortunately I told OH about the MrBE and Tigs chicken and leek pie challenge (which kept me amused for most of the day at work on Friday), so I have now cleaned the kitchen, and have promised to make the pie.
Talk to you all soon

Hiya everyone,
Warm day here on the island. I can hear thunder rolling in  better not bloody rain. The manufacters have had to take a template for our roof capping as they have rolled it wrong twice now. Reckon it could be ready by the weekend. Wall frames are going up though and internal stairs on Wednesday. Looks good. DH had to come home today due to exhaustion. Not from work, but lack of sleep.
Granny is holding up a wee bit better, but only just.
We made a weetbix cake today together :eek:and he threw a tantrum after he had licked the bowl clean and wanted more. I'm such a good cook.
PP Hope you feel better as the day goes on.
Math Happy birthday :beer:Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all! Just popping in here quickly before I dash back into town (ha! dash is NOT the word, road up between here and there means it took over half an hour for a 10 minute drive this morning  ).
I've done a couple of loads of washing, changed the bed but don't dare put the sheets on the line after yesterday's downpours; going to heat up some soup for my flask for lunch in a minute and then get out and about.
Breakfast: crumpets
Lunch: HM soup and sandwich
DInner: lamb chops, rice and aubergine dip
Happy Birthday Mr Math! :bdaycake: and Penny Pincher, I hope you feel better as the day draws on.
Have a great day all! FF xx0
