Found your thread yesterday and hope you don't mind if I chip in - you sound like I did before deiscovering this site.

Well done on getting started on debt busting. Beware it does become addictive.

I felt a great sense of relief when I finally faced up to everything. It's still hard and I do get fed up but it's worth it. (I think).

I smiled reading about your car- I was gutted when mine died last year and thought I'd never cope. I work pat time inb the village and drove to work and regarded my car as my "freedom". Now I'm fitter and richer. I can't just pop into town and our only shop is the papershop!

Good luck on the journey. I have subscribed.

  • Hiya Robsmum, Welshsaver, Craftycrafter thanks for popping in and joining in with me.

We are all here for the something, if we can help each other along the way, thats brilliant.

I have have had my DGD for three days (hence my missing 3 days on here) She is not at all naughty, but OH I have never stopped. Winner12 how do you do it.

Robsmum, Fab to have you on board with me, I need all the help and support I can get. I usually check in daily or 3,4,5 times daily :rotfl:back to that now DGD is back at home. Thankyou

Winner12 Glad to here your little ones over the chicken Pox. update on the latte's I have had two but.........I paid for neither, DH bought one lot £4.20  and my friend bought the other ones. (more on my friend later)

Craftycrafter, yes I do have a library local to me.....but never go in it, cheers for that tip. I do read a lot, as I work permanent nights. I have always bought my books, thats in the past of course. I like lots of others have lots of book, so buying no new ones for the foreseeable future but will pop in the local library and see whats on offer. Thankyou.

Another two issues I have is weigh and procrastination, these I also need to address, but just a bit at a time or I will pack it all in. I have started, money saving, dieting and stop procrastinating many many times before, slip up at some point, usually after about 3 days, then pack it all in.

At home at the moment, procrastinating :rotfl:. BUT I have a plan. I am going to do half hour chunks of things, before I am allowed to sit back down on computer.

Silly question Craftycrafter but do you craft :rotfl:. I play at making Jewelry, I have sold 5 pieces in about 6 month. I do not advertise it, just do it for pleasure. I am making my sisters a necklace, bracelet and earing for Christmas, should cost me about £5 for extra bits I need, a saving on £15-20. We usually spend about £20-25 on each other.

OK off for my half hour to do things :T

Thankyou all for popping in :A

    :)

I am very good at procrastinating also! I started a new thread a couple of mnths ago and find declaring on there a good motivator - it's almost like going public!:rotfl:

Following a tip I got from Memory Girl's thread I do 15 minute bursts before allowing myself something nice - seems to work. Can't believe what you can do when you bribe yourself.

  • Hiya Robsmum, yeah my half hour just rolled into and hour :j. It is amazing what you can get done in theses chunks. I have done my ironing and put it away, sorted tea out, had everything in, sorted out a big piled of letters papers etc, shredded loads. I am looking at a no spend day today :j. No spend days were a never ever for me. If I didnt need anything I would go out and find something.

My app I downloaded on tho my BB is working brilliant. I now don't like to see my balances going down in each category ( I put in a spend amount for each category on a Friday). I will go ind your diary before I do my next half hour chunk.

  • I am pleased you are going to discover your local library and I hope you enjoy it.

Yes, I do craft, but I don't sell so I am in awe of your success. Don't forget to remind your customers that Christmas is coming and jewellery is always an acceptable gift! Good Luck with future sales.

I also procrastinate. If I am not careful, chores can be 24 - 7 so I force myself to do something fun at regular intervals!
  • Well today I popped into my local library s advised. It was good experience, lots on offer besides books, computers, lots of adverts for local classes, also picked up some information on a free demonstration of Jewelry making :j, thanks Craftycrafter.

Today I am baking, corned beef and onion pies, for the freezer and Cornish pasties for tea (not my tea). ginger cake and rock cakes. DH is 11 Stone wet through:mad: and seems to stay there .

Sorted out a lot of paperwork and started a filing system (not perfected it yet) but a lot better than letters and forms etc in lots of different places and least now I can go to a file and look for them. I had a 2 draw filing cabinet, that had everything in but papers. It now holds, 5 large files and the tray has pens etc in, stamps, so that I can, respond to letters and post straight back.

Also included my weight in my signature. as this is another area that needs much improvement.

Tonight is the 1st night of my 12 nights on. Sould be 4 on 4 off then 4 on, but working my 4 off this will give me and extra £300 to pay off my £500 payday loan. I AM DETERMINED too through till November payday without my payday loan. This payday loan due to be paid in full October 15th but its always about 4 days later when they take it. So I have to make extra £200 worth of savings in 4weeks between mid October and November

Hope you all having a good MSE day

  • All the best with your 12 nights on, it will be worth it when you pay off your payday loan. My husband works shifts and I know how hard it can be, so good luck.

  • Hiya to all who read, hope you having a good start to your day.

I have changed energy suppliers and saved myself £40 a month :j
Gas payment now £36 per month
Electricity payment now £24 per month

I have had a letter from "welcome" finance to say, they are now looking into my ppi claim. I understand that they now have 4 weeks to ley me no one way or the other ? (could have that wrong)

Nothing much else happing as on nights and no spare money to spend.

I am very happy with my two positives :j and continue to get great support from everyone, threads and replies :A
