  • Hi
2 little ones with chicken pox this morning eldest has already had it when she was a baby so fingers crossed.
I found buying 2 meals in one go cheaper so your £7 might do for 2 days that walk to the shop will also help clear your head I found I ached from head to foot for about 3 weeks but boy did I sleep well all that fresh air (had not slept for ages worry stress etc)have not walked today with little ones off School so maybe will be a little stir crazy by tonight will take them to feed the Ducks if they feel upto it later
    Enjoy your day
  • I have just rang the Rent Office and they will except my offer of £83. :j

Lovely sunny day here, so I am off to walk into town, not sure if I'll be walking back ? depends on what I am carrying and its uphill coming back.

    :)

    Hiya Winner12,

Oh poor little ones although I think they can play around and stuff, 35yrs since I had to deal with anything like that. Poor you too, not being able to get out as much, cooped up in the house, maybe our ramblings will keep us both sane ?

Mm 2 day meals in one, sort of mix and match you mean ? I will think about that on my walk into town.

I would usual go into the cafe' for a latte' which would cost me £2, i will get a cold drink from scoopa doopa (wieghouse) and sit in the park, nice park there too. Have the best time you can, at least you will get in olts of you and kids time. I worked through my daughters early years and missed so much or her growing up, my mam saw her through her chicken pox.....bad mammy

  • Hi Bluejeans53

Like you I am or should I say was an easy come easy go sort of person which has left us with a £25K debt!!! Since signing up to this site I have changed in many, many ways.

I no longer enjoy wandering around shops as it seems pointless when i can't buy anything so I have much more time for other things. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy meeting friends for coffee etc but we go to the cheaper places and don't spend £3 on a latte anymore.

At the beginning of this month I did a list of meals for the month (10 meals x 3) and did online shop which amazingly only came to £120 and top up shops so far have been just under £50 so am looking to spend £200 for the month. The old me could easily have spent this in a week!!!!

I also hope to have cut my fuel bills when the statement comes in just by turning things off.

Like you I am overweight so am only using my car for essential journeys (work mostly). Even if I catch the bus I have to walk to the bus stop - the car is 2 steps from the front door!!

Anyway this is turning into a bit of a ramble so good luck with your MSE journey. ;)

  • Back from my shopping trip, walked there. So wanted a coffee when I got there but didn't go and there is a new coffee shop opened too, read the menu on the door, reasonable but did not go it :j
£5.14 of todays £7 spent and a no spend no spend day tomorrow :j

We have a co-op in town, which I never used as they were so expensive even for me in my wasting days. But they have now gone into partnership with safeway, so have lots of bargains on now.

Dropped down a brand on my bread got Co-op own wholemeal 78p instead of getting 50/50 bread at £1.20 per loaf :T
winner12 I bought pizza base mix 45p, home made pizza for tea with chips (not for me though) pack of pepperoni on special £1 for 19 slices and not teeny weeny ones either, so I can do something else with whats left :j already have, chopped tomatoes and fresh, onion, cheese, mixed herbs too.

    Savings today

14 mile round trip in a Nissan primera ( too big for us get a smaller one next time) dint know what the petrol would have been on that trip.

    £1.30 on bus-fare into town
£2.00 on a latte' i did not get, well £1.60 i did get a bottle of flavored water.
    40p on the bread
and not sure about tea but at least £5 as I would have just bought anything I picked up in Asda.

Paid my rent too, made me feel good that I had sorted it and made the first payment.

All in all a good morning for me

    :):):)

Hiya, yeah I agree, I should have £1,000s in the bank :(. My post today.

My pack from my local credit union which i have joined. They have told me, after saving any amount for a few weeks, they should ? be able to offer me a small loan, which will clear may payday loan. So silly for doing that . Payday loan is for £500 and will come out of my next payday (again) never ending circle.

Letter from Scottcall Debt collection for my capital one CC debt of £536.10 so they tell me. I must get some advice on board about this one. I have shredded the letters in the past, thats so me Bin it and it will go away, does it heck just gets bigger.

Letter from Mpower to say they could not get my last payment of £190 ( I have now reduced this to £103, I was paying off my arrears) they will charge me £6 and stop me being able to pay by DD and will loose my £100 bonus I would get for 12 payments with none missing. Well i will just have to lose it and set up a new DD. Accounts are up to date thats the main thing.

Letter from bank to say two DD returned one from vodaphone for wait for it £55  my contract is for £25 what the other £25 for ? put that on my to do list to look into that and also £115 cheque returned .
This is so good to get off my chest, will you all.

Hiya PBH was just going to reply to your last post, thanks for dropping in. The app is called "light wallet" is is brilliant. It does take a bit of working out to get to no how to use it ( or maybe that was just me DO) as no instructions, but if you get stuck I will help best i can.

I have read lots on the net and in a lot of cases over eating or comfort eating goes hand in hand with overspending ? It is certainly true in my case. I have arthritis in my left knee and the extra weigh does me no favors at all, maybe we can jolly each other along on that score. I will go back and go through your post to me in case i have missed any comments out
